Learn to play the drums, be creative, and have fun! Lessons include topics like beginner technique, rudiments, various styles, groove, listening, drum fills, and improvisation. I will also post some performance videos.
This is where it begins. I spent weeks trying to seperate limbs last December. I could of learned this at 10 yesrs old but forfeited until I Was 62. I never realized most of us play drums by recognizing where a few basic notes were strewn about on a staff. 🎼 I wanted to play wipe out. Still can't. Great lesson brother!
At 4:13, the notation shows a left hand lead, but you played it right hand lead. Still, very good lesson, I can't play that fast or complicated patterns yet
Great lesson. I noticed that we have the same shells! I just purchased my USA Gretsch kit (1982?) from my local drum store. Such a nice kit dude. Do you live near Petaluma? I went to Sonoma State University.
Thanks! I believe i got these shells about 2009-10. Great drums! Yup, Im in the northbay 👍 awesome you went to Sonoma State, they have been growing that music program a lot
Think am going to aftef learn to read sheet music for drums because I can play what your playing I just don't rember it because earthing is singles an doubles
@dylangarrisondrums thanks kid . . Your style in so efficient. An I was watching your fingers . You seem to playin all the fantastic drums with wrist . But you sure got a great technic.. are you getting out an giging??
How do you play this on a left handed kit . How come no one teaching left handed drums How come I after learn evey thing a right person does but they don't learn what a left handed kit 😂
@AP530 now a man of your calibre would not be using in in front of possibly. Or possible. I love playing drums, so we just change the sticking round singls double everything else is dynamics an placement. Would you agree this sir ??
Good question! The easiest way to learn it or any transcription from right handed kit to left handed is to simply switch the sticking around - Right Hand becomes Left Hand, and Left Hand becomes Right Hand. The transcription stays the same👍 That would be great practice for all of us actually!
The transcription isn’t incorrect. Where you’ve borrowed the last four notes of your lick to use as an inset, whilst demonstrating the linear triplets at 1:28 is maybe what has got people upset?
don't know how I missed this video but it will make a nice practice along with that latin groove. BTW, it took a couple sessions but I got that groove now, thanks to you =)
I just wish I had more time to practice all these great things you're teaching us. At the same time I'm two years into fast double bass practicing and I'm almost getting there so I won't quit now. Slowly but surely I'm putting some of your lessons on my routine. Thanks!
Sorry but I genuinely think it’s so irrelevant to Harland. Not saying it’s a bad video. But it’s just really random general intermediate patterns that shouldn’t be under his name…
@@dylangarrisondrums I'm really interested in learning some killer snare drum solos, like buddy rich and so on, but I guess I just have to keep practicing my rudiments and start putting them together. Anyway, if you have any tips on that, I would like to see
