I have the soundtrack album, bought in 1975. The music is so amazing you can see the movie in your head while listening to it. Every track triggers a visual cue from the film.
Film Composer here and yes, of course that theme was so visceral it was perfect. And how about that scene with the boy being sucked under, then the dolly zoom on Roy Scheider? I still get goose bumps when I see that.
There's a video of Williams conducting an orchestra playing the Jaws theme. The tubas and bass violins and bass bassoon play the first note and a nervous ripple of laughter rolls through the audience. Truly evocative score!
Do I want to go and see a show with people dressed like that and pay 400 dollars for one ticket …no sir if I want to see people like that …go to any cheap pub…
its a play with some music, the music is secondary to the acting. This is one of the few songs they sing all the way through. the tickets are not that expensive
This sound has hung on and scared me for most of my life. Im now 67 and can still feel the fear i felt when seeing this at the theatre. What an impact this movie had on so many of us.
The story I heard from someone who was part of the making of Jaws is they heard the diver had encountered a Great White up close and personal and asked what happened. He said his heart started beating very hard, like the jaws theme… they looked at each other and the rest is this story. This came from the stunt coordinator and diving consultant.
Ending that musical with Bows and taking a bow at the curtain call and hearing a big applause and then you pat and clap for the kids did a good job performing the musical.
bless you for this recording!! bookmarking it to get me through the next two weeks until the official cast recording is released! cannot. get . enough. here when it has a mere 400 views.
