If I have a bluish tone lipstick that I want to warm up, I finish with a very pale peach lipgloss. If I want to make a warm lipstick cooler, I add a pale berry on top.
I never get any help with this because my hair is neither light nor dark brown. I have medium contrast, my skin tome is warmish and my eye color is blue hazel (according to your eye color video).
Yay!!! Thank you so much for the rest of the L’Oreal colors. Plum Explosion is one of my favorites and Raisin Rapture. I definitely look better in cool colors. Now I have more colors I want to purchase thanks to your video.
Too, I wonder if Lucinda doesn't shy away from light lipsticks as I've noticed (68) that light lipsticks can make me look older. So maybe that's what she feels. When we were young white lipstick was all the rage.
I'm a light, cool, soft. But all the colours that fall in that category would look aweful on me. I've got some pigmented lips. I need a darker color to wear. No nudes or light pinks or mauves for me. Darker mauves I can do. Berries and plums I can do. Even a red I can do. Nudes look god aweful
Colors either are hot pink or dead gray on me. I’m a dark autumn. The only L’Oréal color I’ve found to work (but I must use a brown nude liner) is #176 Nu Irreverent.
Hello Ladies, I just found you Again....since Beauty Control....l am glad you are now embracing that the four seasons are not quite enough 😊 I do have a question.... are you no longer affiliated with BC?. I always enjoyed you but sometimes ended up with more questions that had me confused. For instance... as a previous natural (all my hair colors have been natural) strawberry to red ish auburn....then strawberry and now almost platinum on the warmer side. However my skin tone is pink as it has always been. The hardest thing has been my realizing that warm is for my clothes and cool is for my make up😂
Beauty Control draped and miscategorized me as a Summer years ago. The color swatches they gave me made me look pale, and people asked me if I was sick. It took me decades to get my colors right because I had it in my head that I’m Cool. I’m not; not even a Soft Summer. I now look my best in Autumn colors.
I LOVED this episode. it was very crucial to grasp fully the concept of color as I am learning after having received my analysis. I love how you guys are breaking the info to us and it is making it much easier to work with that way. love your content
Typed as a deep winter but those colors are sometimes too bright while soft summer are not deep enough. This makes sense because both my hair and eyes and blackISH. My prime is deep followed by soft (so pretty much all darker colors reached by adding black or gray) and then neutral cool. Instead of worrying about my season, I simply ask if a color is either deep enough or soft but not too lightened in value when draped against my skin. It’s usually pretty obvious.
I'm having trouble growing my nails. I always color my toe nails, but finger nails I put nail strengthens. Deep red on toes. Summer. Pink or mauve or white if fingernails corporate & grow. Occasionally, wine dark wine colors for Xmas or winter.
I’m a dark autumn with salt and pepper hair. Used to be dark brown with warm highlights. Am I still an autumn? My skin is neutral leaning warm with dark brown eyes.
My skin, my soft “ish” eyes & brown hair are warm but I have some white hairs coming in. I don’t want to color my hair, so what do I do? My coloring is at odds with the white hairs. I’m in my 60s, but my hair is still predominantly medium brown. My eyebrows are lighter and warm.
I would love to be typed! Historically I have dark brown hair with natural auburn highlights but has now started graying. I have a gray streak front and center! My skin has a rosy tint to it and I have bright green eyes. All of this sends mixed signals to me.
Maybe the Midnights dresses were meant to be a representation of “nightshirts”? Great video ladies. Seeing Taylor’s concert through the lens of color. Yes, I am a swiftie🌸V
Idk, what you labeled Watermelon looked more Coral (red orange)to me. I think of Watermelon as a soft or light true red. Teal & Aqua are pretty flattering to most people, as is purple. Navy? Really depends. Some shades of Navy are pretty grey or so dark it looks black. If Navy is close to Cobalt I can wear it but generally blues that lean greeen (like teal, turquoise, aqua) look better. I noticed the intensity of the colors you showed was med high & the value was pretty med. The purple looked more red violet than true purple to me but that is objective I guess & my monitor may be skewing the colors a bit :) I know in photos my tops always look different than they actually are IRL. In artschool we were discouraged from using fashion terminology for colors & now I know why. Everyone probably has a specific idea about what color watermelon, teal & purple is :D But yeah, I agree that those colors (whatever you call them) are flattering to the most people.
You lost me on the Dakota Johnson video. On the right were soft pale pastels which might work for a light summer. The colors on the left she looked great in were soft summer colors and she's a soft summer. It worked perfectly.
Finally. I think people get very confused and start making stuff up to make sense of it when you don't include all 12. Like soft, a dominant characteristic doesn't work on its own. Baby blue is soft. Can I wear it as a soft autumn? Heck no. You need more information to make it work.
My mom is always right. "Mija, put on red lipstick. You're too pale!" I have very dark hair/eyes and light olive/ cool- neutral ?? skin. She got me a gorgeous red called Pirate. For me, its Go RED or Go home!
I have bluish, grayish eyes and the best way for me to make my eyes pop the bluest is to wear gold or yellow eyeshadow. It really takes them in a clear blue direction!
