I agree with everything you said. GameStop just doesn't have the higher ups that care about what people who buy retro games care about. That trickles down with little to no training on those aspects. We're still going to be better off buying off eBay or other non chain retro stores.
I accidentally purchased a repro ds cart from gamestop. Only realized after I brought the game home that it was inauthentic. I mean, gamestop is a videogame retailer... so I didn't think I would need to authenticate the game in store. Luckily, gamestop refunded me without much fuss.
damn it the Retro market is fucked again..when DK oldies and resellers started making collecting into a business it became harder to thrift for games. But since GameStop is starting its time for me to get repro carts off Ebay, weather up the label a little and make bank selling them to Gamestop
Discs and Cases not matching is a problem with almost every retro store. You can just tell them you don't want it when you see if does not match if it is an issue.
Great video dude, definitely agree with ya on your choices. PP was definitely the most boring game I played, I would subject myself to more of the zombie game than PP lol. Also Noire is best goddess. Don’t @ me.
Check before you leave the store, or even check out. Never buy from Gamestop online for used games. Honestly I am for GameStop doing this. It's going to keep market prices naturally lower. I picked up a complete copy of Bloodrayne 2 for Xbox for $5 after my $5 coupon this week. Considering it sells for $15-18 online, I'd say that's a big win.
🎶 That sweet, sweet intro in its full glory😂 another great upload. I like the way your game room looks nate. I like how "cozy bookstore or video rental" your arrangement is just gives me a certain nostalgia for the aisle-like layout
So its cool to resell if youre trying to build up your collection but its not cool to resell video games so you can take care of your family? Make that make sense. I resell video games to take care of my wife and my kids so F your feelings.
This is one of the best channels on RU-vid, keep it going man. Don't forget to make playlists of your content, I'll watch it like that too. I love consoles and handhelds equally, in fact... It's annoyed me when most of my friends dismiss handheld... Handheld is so awesome and so, so many great memories... Peace and love ✌️
Puzzle games like Tetris and Dr. Mario are popular with other people, but I could never find an interest in them. I tend to like games where you fight an enemy, including beat 'em ups, platformers, fighting and wrestling games, shooters, and action adventure games like Zelda. I also like racing games.
Me when the intro stops in the middle of my BOP -->😢 (no more short intros plz) I have to agree with some of your points especially Borderlands I guess the hype went right over my head on that franchise, thanks for another great video Nate !!
Not a bad video. Didn't really talk about the card functionality or the collecting aspect of the cards. Each game has a several dozen cards that are pretty difficult to get all of even if you started when they were in retail stores.
I don't "collect" games anymore, but I sure have a lot of them. My biggest regret is probably all the time and money I've spent buying things just to put them into boxes, and lug them from place to place whenever I move. Now I see all the stuff I own as a burden, but to sell it for what it's worth takes even more effort than it did to buy it! Congrats on 2,000 subscribers btw!
Some good points here 🙂 My take is that shelves are the most important part. Even a small collection can look like a hoarding problem without enough shelves. Collecting is about working with the space you have, keeping things neat so your hobby doesn't look like a mess that got out of control. Speaking of which, you look like you're doing a good job of this part 🙂
Great video my friend. I downsized my collection back in August of 2022. I got rid of over 1000 unwanted games from my collection. Filler titles, sports titles, kids games, and unwanted trash titles. I went through each of my consoles and phased out those unwanted games. I used the money from selling those games, and it helped me to pay for the Xbox 360 games that I wanted to add to the collection this year. I feel most gamer/collectors will discover that our collections can get way out of hand, and it's best to identify this issue sooner, rather than later. At the end of the day well all need to make sure we're collecting for ourselves, and not for others. As the years move along, I will continue to comb through my collection, and possibly phase out and remove other titles in the future. Keep up the great work on the channel.
Honestly I would only buy loose boxes that are inexpensive and only prioritize boxes for personal favorites. Most of us don’t have the cash to burn on cib. Avoiding the mega popular consoles is good advice. I love picking up xbox, playstation and Wii/u games for cheap.
The problem with trophies and achievements is that they're public info by default when you're online. It's not necessary at all (there's plenty of ways to show what level a player is at) but it keeps people engaged with a console brand because people want their profile to look strong. I'm not a fan of that but having extra challenges in a game is all good.
