Yes.. majik lp12 costs 3.5k and needs a future 1.5k spending on a lingo upgrade to make the platter spin consistently accurately thereby ensuring good timing pace and rhythm of the music PRAT....that's what I am.if I ever buy into this nonsense
This is a long-time favorite song of mine, I've heard many artists perform this number but Sinatra just can't be topped! He gives the song the feeling and emotion that the lyrics (and tune) deserve!
His explanation of skating force is muddled and incorrect. Skating force arises due to the offset of the pickup head. The pickup head is offset to maximise the effective length of the arm, to reduce tracking error. The pickup offset gives rise to a force pulling the stylus towards the centre of the record, because the friction force on the stylus from the record groove is along the centre line of the pickup head, but the actual force holding the stylus in place goes through the pivot of the arm, not parallel to the friction force. The skating force exists at all points on the record and will vary with the size of the friction force on the stylus. Skating force can be eliminated completely by using an arm and pickup head with no offset, but then the tracking error is increased.

i have new thorens td 1500 and there is incremental encoder speed stabilization theoreticly not such primitive, i think its evil because stabilization increase wow and flutter sometimes when it corrects speed in such belt drive systems, i think sondek without stabilization is better. if its running on 33.4 or 33.29 as example does not really matter.
9:40 That "pro-ject style" is very accurate when the thread inside the counterweight and the markings on the dial are accurate. When I set it at my turntable (a Technics SL-1200G) and check it with a digital scale (Ortofon DS-3), I'm 0.1 grams off *at most*
9:30 I mean, you could've used rubber cable grommets to insulate the cable from the chassis. Some types of cable grommets are specifically designed for that exact application...
That's an Ekos SE with a Tiger Paw Skale counterweight fitted surely? If so then it's a titanium arm tube not silicon alloy. Has this guy been Linn trained, perhaps he wasn't taking notice during training sessions?
