On this channel I renovate an old stone house in Italy, tend to the land and a bit of bonsai. I'm still a beginner in these subjects, but strive to learn as I go. I've moved from Denmark to Tuscany in Italy, to pursue the dream of coming closer to nature.
I'll be posting all the projects I do weekly every sunday.
Thankyou for sharing the inside of your property with us, its going to be interesting watching you improve and transform it into your own style. Well done for keeping your dream alive and working towards your dream, many dont even have a dream let alone work towards it. (talking about myself when I was young here! lol!) Sending love xx
Of course, and thank you for watching. True unfortunately, and I somewhat get it, dreams can be risky. But life is also risky, that is why we try to make the most of it. :)
Hi Christen, recently discovered your channel and have been watching and enjoying your videos. You have a great garden and terrace space there - looking forward to seeing it develop. I also enjoy how creative you are with the bamboo - building the garden shed, making a shower curtain, using it as risers for the little unit between the bridge and the stove etc. cheers, Derek in Ottawa.
Hi Derek, thank you for noticing my love for bamboo; I really like that it is very often a problem for people where it grows, so it is free and at the same time challenging to work with and you really need to predrill for it to not crack. But it is so strong 💪
It is nice to get a clear overview of all the different rooms! The feeding trowel (Sp?) is something that another couple ( Stories from the cascina ) recently removed, helps creating more space. Don't know if that is your plan as well. Have a nice trip!
Thanks for talking about the trowel. I'm a bit conflicted with them, because they take up so much space, yet they are part of the house' history. Maybe leave one, and just use it to store firewood, idk.
Great job on the terraces so far! What a difference it has already made. Cannot wait to see what you guys have in mind and what the vision is. Curious what the italian guest had to say in the house. Have a good trip and enjoy your time with friends and family as well ;)
I think that the climate and the mountains of the area would suit a vineyard and even a variety from my country called MOSCHATO TYRNAVOU It was a tasty red wine... I just dropped an idea :))) Greetings from GREECE
It is perfect for wine and olives, many people in the area do it, also the previous owners did back in the day. So many things to do after the wedding! On the small hills which are not flat, there's still a lot of wines, I bet if I make stand for them I could start producing wine again real quick. :))
Thanks for pointing that out, hope it is going to look even cooler when the top part of the trees goes to the ceiling and provides the kitchen island with power. Me two with the wisteria, I have a lot of convincing to do with my better half for it to stay. The cherry needs freeing indeed.
I watch your videos with delight and appreciation. May you inspire many other younger couples to discover the joy of living close to nature. Much healthier than the huge cities the rest of us populate. Scottsdale Arizona.
Another very interesting and soothing video for me to watch, and I can see your artistic side coming out in everything you do! Thought it funny that you were trying to convince your lovely lady to keep the iron sculpture, using the ugly/beauty point, but there's enough ugly in the world, you don't need to add to it!! I can see her point of view, somehow it wouldn't look good as a backdrop in a wedding pic!! Perhaps you could place many potted flowers all over it and a string of lights until the wisteria grows.
I had to try to convince her, and I will still try, we'll see if it is there when september comes around. Actually not a bad idea with all the pots and lights.
Mi dispiace molto che non ci siano i sottotitoli. è molto dispendioso in termini di tempo. Quando diventerò più grande su RU-vid penso che RU-vid lo farà automaticamente.
Hello Christen, I loved watching the walk with your cat and dog, made me very happy and reminded me of a time when my 3 dogs and 2 cats walked with me in the street/close I lived in and I thought I was unique having cats walk with me & my dogs, but I guess not!! I think your very talented, kind and hard working, your different and unique which is refreshing. Your always fun and uplifting to watch. Keep up your hard work and enjoying what you do, and your dreams cant help but come true!! x
Hi Vivien, first of all thank you for this comment; it means the world, it is also very motivating and really makes me want to keep on going. Dreams don't come easy I suppose. I still think it is pretty unique, cats and dogs have to be accustomed to each other. I also really appreciate these walks.
I see you going up and down mowing the grass and that is quite time consuming and tiring. So I would suggest getting 2 "old tech drones" for mowing the grass, goats or arrange with a shepherd in the area to bring his own. Just be careful, because they eat everything. :))) Greetings from GREECE
That is definitely on the drawing board, much better and free fertilizer for the land and olive trees. Chickens and goats after the wedding when I have more time. 💪😊
I love the way you work, love how fast you show the work (I get so boooored if it goes on too long!) think you great fun to watch, knowledgeable about keeping healthy, and a lovely kind human! Id love to know your history, and future plans, are you a modern day crazy inventor!! ha ha. Keep up the good work.
Love how the island is coming along! Learning the techniques with the spraypaint gun will save you many hours in all the future projects to come. Cannot wait to see the island with the marble and wishing you the best holiday! You deserve it!
I can't wait to see the finished result, hope the contrast between black and white is going to look cool. It has been cool to learn the spraygun and you are probably right that its going to safe some time in the future. I'll make sure to enjoy my time in Denmark, with some old friends. There is going to be a short video of three days on next sunday tho. Thanks for always commenting! 😊🇮🇹
It is a musician who calls himself ambient boy, he is an expert in you guessed it ambient music. I get access to his music through a platform, so I can use it in my videos. Don't know if it is accessibile anywhere else. 😊
I'm sure you could! It's called Uppbeat, I just have been frustrated with their freemium model lately, demoneytizing my videos. So I was forced to buy a subscrition before I really have made any money. But I guess that's how they make money. There is always a catch...
I watch your videos, and I can say that you have chosen a nice place to stay... I can also say that it is quite similar to my home country, Greece, which, contrary to what most people know, is not only beautiful islands and beaches, but also very beautiful mountains, and many and high... I would suggest you to think about building a traditional stone wood-burning oven, in some outdoor space, which, apart from being something beautiful, will help you make even tastier food. Greetings from GREECE
Thank you so much for watching and I totally agree Greece is amazing, but mostly known for the islands as you say which I also enjoyed sailing among. A stone oven is definitely on the drawing board, I just want to finish the inside of our house and get some vegetables in the ground first. 😊
Love the vibes! Would be pumped if you would share your recipes of things you make, it looks great. Also I am a bonsai nooby so explaining what you're doing and why would be helpful and enlightning :D
I will try to share it, in this instance you would normally use lemons for the elderflower "juice", but I didn't have any, so I used oranges. And I'll try to talk a bit more during my bonsai work. Great comment!
Making use of the new oven in kitchen, hope to see you in the sun at front enjoying many many days(not just to dry clothes ha ha). I really enjoy watching your efforts that u make look so free flowing well done. Keep up the good work that never seems to end.
From a granny in Australia. Only found your channel yesterday (31 April) and have watched nearly all, sorry not 18 minutes of painting. Love what you and Stine have achieved. Don't worry about getting frustrated, we all do. Adore your larch forest. Alsonwhat did you stuff the chicken with? Keep up the good work. Also love the use of the bamboo.
Thank you so much for watching all my videos. I tried a sarcastic title for that video, I also go to the market and other stuff. I learned that sarcasm isn't a good idea for my format of videos. I stuffed it with sage, we have so much of it, thought I'd try it out.
This is perfect. Even market tripods are wobbly. In my experience building with bamboo or long legs with wood, you definitely need to support the legs together with three smaller pieces of bamboo or some wire/ metal in between. Look at examples of art easles, you have long hooks that come off when you fold the tripod away... 🤔🤓
I love your kitchen, it's already so cozy and homey, kind of the heart of the house.... it reminds me so much of the kitchen we had in our house in Ticino.... I love the look on your fidanzata's face when you removed the old oven😊 another great episode, grazie mille e buona domenica a voi🥰
Excellent point - it really is the heart of the house. Oh no you don't have the house in Ticino anymore? Looks amazing, judging from the pictures on Google. Haha, we just spoke about this little inside joke, I like including her looks into the camera, I sometimes say dumb stuff or lift things which are too heavy. Thank you for all the compliments it means the world! 😊
that stove looks epic and that dinner even better! Seems your girl was impressed with you carrying out the old stove! XD Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Cool drone shots and that couch cover makes a world of difference!! Fabulous job on the bathroom, so creative and cool how you hung the shower curtain. Cannot wait to see what you come up with next with bamboo. Excited about your kitchen plans and your bread baking! Until next time. Keep up the great work!
