Hi Chip, this was wild to see how the bearing just completely disintegrated. Then of course the alignment of parts is compromised and the gears fail. Question for you, I have a 2016 Mkz Hybrid with 119k on the clock. It drives and runs fantastically and has been well maintained overall. However over the last few months I have noticed a slight groaning noise when going through right hand curves at say 50+ MPH coming from the drivers side front wheel area. No similar noise when going through left hand curves or when driving in straight lines. Do you think this could be as simple as a wheel bearing starting to go bad, or would an HF-35 make this kind of noise if the internal bearings were starting to go out? - Thanks!
Hello. is it possible for a faulty fuel pump to damage the hybrid battery? I have a Ford Mondeo Hybrid 2018, which stops while driving, the message stops safely. for 2 minutes it doesn't respond to any commands, it stays stuck on the contact then after 2 minutes it recovers. errors appear on the hybrid battery I will change the ev battery but I want to know if there is a connection between a faulty fuel pump and the hybrid battery. I don't know for sure if my fuel pump is defective, but I read about something like that on the forums is it possible that because of the fuel pump the car runs longer than it should in electric mode? while destroying the battery? Thanks
Worked like a champ. I didn't think it would work but was pleasantly surprised. The only thing that got me worried was when I was waiting the ten minutes the screen went black, but I just closed the door and reopened it and the screen came back on right where I left it.
I have a noise that reminds me of tire noises. It's not whinning, but changes pitch with speed and generally lower in frequency. Do you have any videos with sounds before you remove the transmission?
Hi i have a 2015 f hybrid with 70k miles on it i changed oil in tranny twice last year due to some suggestions before this might happen , do you think i should be worried and all those fusions die some day?
Was happy to see this, then I decided to read what the manual said and found this nugget: "This feature is not available in Canada". Ah, for fuk's sake! Off to the dealer to get robbed.
Cool concept, if anyone runs the numbers though, the whole system is around 65lbs. since the model 3 is tested at loosing 0.1 mile per 2.2 lbs, you loose 3 miles to gain 7... 7 that you get 3.5 hours later. Since the panels only put in ~300w in perfect sun, you increase total range by 20% if you wait the 4.2 hours, giving 8.4 miles. To "doomsday charge" or charge when the grid is down, you would need 3kW of panels to maintain that charger due to cloud cover and other factors. in its current state it can give 8.4 miles every 21 hours of sunlight... the average useable solar sunlight here in TN is calculated at 4.5 hours (takes into account cloud cover and angle of the panels vs the sun in the day) so 8.4 miles every 4.66 days... or 1.8 miles useable per day... you would get more range by slowing down 5mph than carrying around something more. But if it helps Range anxiety... sure, sell it :D
Thank you bro but do you have Ford fusion hybrid and you change your transmission oil regularly and not make any problem I have 2014 Nissan Altima my car have 215,000 miles and I change my transmission oil every 25,000 miles my Car is still driving fine my transmission not make any problem still and thank you for responding me
@@bilalqureshi2489 Got rid of my ''14 Fusion Energi with 55k miles first transmission lasted till 50k. Second lasted 200 miles. I believe there are two failure points with this transmission - one where it makes noise in park - and the other when it makes noise while driving or even in neutral. Energis have a trans fluid pump hybrids don't unless engine is running. If you do buy one tap the gas pedal when you start the car to get fluid moving.
I have strange prob. I have 1 working fob that was programmed for $$$. I have 2 fobs bought from Ebay for duplicating. $$$ guy had difficulty creating his working fob, but he got there. When I went to do mine, the five clicks on the key did not bring up the starting point video shows, but instead said ready for FOB 4. Where to from there?
Just opened the ecvt front case to inspect the damage, wow. I this video you have, It looks like my trans has more damage than this one! and mine had a lot of fluid in it. Id love to send some photos of the gear teeth and scaring in the casing. Also I have a question in regards of HF35 compatibility between years. Already researched Ford part #s and all that, but im thinking you guys have experience in this.
on these HF-35 ecvt, do you know if Ford Fusion Hybrid (full EV) can use a 2015or 2016 Fusion Hybrid (full Ev) trans? i know they both have the HF35 and same drive ratio, same engine, both are NON Energi. I have 2013 and want to put a newer (less mileage) donor trans from a 2016 i found. all matches up but Ford website telling me my 2013 can only use 2013 -June 20 2014 ecvt
Excellent job! I always love seeing such nice things getting a chance to be repaired. So far, for me, this type of e-CVT is one efficient transmission. As a small note, those two pieces you took out are the rotor parts of the electric motors. The one with winding is the stator. These are electric motors for traction and generation, not alternators.
Strangely, I had to turn my key the other way to get this to work. There were some expletives muttered when the procedure didn't work, but trying by turning my key to the right, not the left solved the problem. The rest of the procedure was the same.
@@TruFire710 I had a 14 fusion energi - got a new transmission a year ago free at 50k miles under EV 10 year 150k warranty and sold it just now at 55k mi for $9600 to carvana - hot potato and warranty ran out jun 1st
Is there a way to take the transmission out the top of the engine bay? My fiancé's car had a terrible noise and I'm hoping it's just a bearing, but I'm struggling to find a good way to take it out in my garage...
Do you recommend anyone in WA state for this same service? Or can you rebuild a transmission if I have it pulled, crated, and shipped to you guys? 107k, got the bearing whine, a bit of scraping sound, not loud, very drivable, but the best price I could find is $1000 each way to ship my 2014 FFE to you guys. What kind of rebuild turn-around do you have currently?
I bought a 2017 Transit Connect cargo in late 2020. It was in really good shape. As a cable guy, I put a lot of miles on it (and won't deny that I drive it hard) It's had a TCC shudder for a little while and I've been considering getting the fluid changed, but I have a feeling it's failing. When I first start driving, the 3-4 has a flare, but only once. At random times, the 2-3 is harsh. I'd consider taking it out myself and over to the transmission shop I worked at years ago running the dyno, but I can't be without a vehicle for long so I have a feeling things are about to get expensive.
