Love it going to build one this coming summer! Was wondering what y’all used for framing the bump out of the front loft looks like 2x8 framing? Intend on doing the same thing to have the front bumped out
They were 2x6 headers making contact with a top plate on the bottom and a sill plate on top. Unfortunately, this is the aspect that I am least confident in from our build. We really tried to follow the best methods with every aspect, but when we were designing it there was a lack of information that we could find on how to create a structurally safe cantilever.
Doctor…”Can you tell me how long it will be when we land?” Pilot…”I can’t tell”. Doctor…”You can tell me, I’m a doctor”. Pilot…”I’m not sure”. Doctor…”Can you take a guess?” Pilot…”Not for 2 another hours”. Doctor…”You mean you can’t take a guess for 2 another hours?” Doctor…”Can you fly this plane and land it?” Passenger…”Surely you can’t be serious”. Doctor…”I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley”. It's a very nice video, also very nice to see how well you work together. The design of the angled wood is also very nice. Very well done. Greetings from The Netherlands
Just moved it this week! And at the weight station we are thinking the final weight was 17k give or take a bit. Still have to add in some pieces but we feel comfortable that we will be under the 21k that the axles can take :)
