I love this!! So much fun watching you two go through the process. I especially loved the personal "Quirky" touch at the end. It's definitely you guys!
Just moved it this week! And at the weight station we are thinking the final weight was 17k give or take a bit. Still have to add in some pieces but we feel comfortable that we will be under the 21k that the axles can take :)
can't tell from so far away, but it looks good. Being a contractor I always tend to see the obvious blunders people make but you did great. For the windows not sure if you skip caulked the bottom to allow water to drain if there is a leak. Down to taping they Tyvek and making sure nothing was counter flashed. Kudos bro, my only question is why did u go with wood when it's so heavy? WIll this not move a lot if ever? I hate working with the carpenter's steel studs but they're so lightweight and strong I figure I'll use them in mine just to make it so much lighter I don't think there would even be a comparison. The strapping you used was there any rhyme or reason for the way you layed it out? Does it make the home not rack side to side/ back to front better? I've never had a job where I needed to use it so that's why I'm asking.
We went with wood because it is more forgiving, and the metal frame seemed scary. As far as the strapping goes, we just tried to have every stud covered, tried to go over corners and keep it at 45 degrees roughly, people use it for tiny houses so that they don't rack when you are in transport and brake on a highway. Thanks for the kind words!
www.qualityedge.com/siding/single-6-inch-trucedar-steel-siding/ 6" steel siding in birch. The cost was roughly 3k USD for all that siding with the J channel and corners. They came in 12' pieces, and we got the kind that interlocked. To complete the outside it took us just over a year with the constrictions of a long winter and not living in the same town as the tiny house. Hope that helps. Cheers
Not too crazy about the color but I like the door. But you do you, boo. Is the next video going to be the interior? I think I would have done the roof first then you could camp out inside while you work on it. Great job and thanks for sharing with us!
👏👏 Felicidades 💞
