The bell curve isn’t some matter of opinion. It has always existed. It’s just now in a format that is very clear. It exists without our input. So feel free to ignore it. Or don’t. Or just cry about it. Or maybe even host a good old fashioned book burning! It won’t matter. It’ll be there.
Ok... But people arent sorted so their measurements follow a bell curve, their measurements fall into a bell curve. I mean, for a 1 minute video, I didn't expect much, but it led me confused.
I agree that the Bell Curve makes little sense in many cases. But what is the solution when we have to conduct Performance appraisals and more importantly, compare bell curves of different functions within the same organization. Need to expand the idea further.
I'm not an advocate of the bell curve but this didn't prove or disprove anything. And to imply that all kids are more or less equal is obvious nonsense. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. The bell curve isn't nonsense but nobody should be teaching with the expectation that grades are always going to follow it.
Anyone who has an interest in the outcome of the issue, a person that can influence or be a part of the process such as parents, teachers, school leaders, leaders of the community, and those invested in the business' of the community. I hope this helps.
