FBA wasn't even invented when Hip Hop started. Malcolm X said there are 100 million Afro-Americans. That included Black people in Brazil, Jamaica, US, Canada, Mexico etc. The idea that we should separate out Black people in the United States is way more backwards than any Black person in the 1970s was thinking. You got Tariq, you got Yvette, you got Antonio. None of them have anything in common with Black people in NYC in the 1970s who invented hip hop. None of them is closer to the start of hip hop than Fat Joe or Busta Rhymes. If we're really gonna divide this out, then NYC nggas invented hip hop. Or Bronx nggas invented hip hop. I disagree with Whipper about people just wanting their name on the credits. Many immigrant groups want black Americans completely removed from any credit.
