thank you so much for this, i'm heavily considering becoming an alt after i graduate and you seem to have a really similar personality as me so ur perspective was super helpful!!
@@amandabrown9684 why you want to go to Japan what your experience with kids is can you speak Japanese and write your name in katakana do you already have your degree/when do you graduate what is your degree why Japan and not another country like Korea since Kpop and Kdramas are so popular now how long have you studied Japanese can you drive/are you willing to drive/will you get your Japanese license? can you get to the training location alone? a little roleplaying where he pretends to be a student and you are the teacher and youre just having a little conversation have you ever been to Japan or another country? have you ever studied abroad? what did you like about being in a new country if yes/ why not if no have you ever taken the JLPT/what level did you pass (take the practice test on the official website, so you at least have that for reference, it doesn't affect if you get in, but it does show taking initiative) basic stuff, BUT he is REALLY informative so take notes and if you dont get this job you will 100% get into another company with those notes, their process is harder than all the other companies i applied for at the same time (i applied to 10 companies and got offers from 6, this company had the best contract) (he basically called me lazy because i studied Japanese for 10years and never took the real JLPT -its too expensive but he didn't ask about that- even tho i always score high on the practice tests)
Thank you I did the interview before I saw this haha I have to do a demo lesson which I just did and will submit tonight. I can we write my name in katakana and I am able to introduce myself in Japanese so I hope I get the job.out of all the alt I think Altia is kinda better so I really want this . I do have borderlink and two others lined up for interviews in May
@@amandabrown9684 good luck you can do it study a little for the Japanese test, they ask you basic questions like your hobbies and if you like sports and the hardest one for me was "what message would you like to give your students"
I'm currently in the process of narrowing my options (between Eikaiwas and Distpatch companies) and this video helped me a lot. For what I've read this is a YMMV thing but how you described the interview process made me feel a lot more at ease. Thank you so much!!
I'm in the process of being an ALT in Japan and was wondering what the work hours for Altia/ yourself personally were like (the range)? I've heard a lot of people work overtime for no extra pay. Also, the pay doesn't seem like much, how did you manage it?
hi! I am interested in applying to alita central but i have a small yorkshire terrier that i want to take with me do you think it would be possible to find an apt that is pet friendly ? my dog is orignially japanese, and ive traveled with him to and from the USA before so I know how long the process is.
Hello. I'm thinking of switching jobs. (currently in Japan myself) Was just wondering if working hours has changed since your video. Your video's about altia are very helpful btw!
Hi Van, i had my interview with graham few days ago and I'm waiting for demo lesson. How long does it take to get demo lesson after the first interview?
Hi Savannah! I'm currently in the process for applying for ALTIA, so this video has been super helpful. For the Japanese interview section, could you describe generally what level the interviewer was speaking? I've studied Japanese for 4 years at university but have mainly focused on writing and reading. Did he speak at about what a N3 level might understand? thank you!!
Hey! This video really helped me out, so thank you so much :). I’m now through to the second interview stage where I will have to discuss my demo lesson video, Q&A, as well a short Japanese interview. I was wondering if you had any tips for the second interview, particularly those bits I mention? I did pass the N5 in July this year (whoop whoop!), but I’m still pretty nervous about the Japanese interview. Any memory of any other questions they asked would be super helpful :).
Was able to do this today! You guys went up the descent route! 😮 The chains on the other side for the climbing route were easier but still a little scary. Best feeling is completing the trail! 🎉
Would love a video where you compare your experiences with Altia Central to those on reddit for example. I have read plenty of comments on there for more recent experiences and it sounds like they might be having some difficulties with their offices etc.
hey Savannah- this is Riley H. from TxSt (moriuchi’s favorite). came across your channel by accident watching videos relearning some old japanese. i knew i recognized you! glad to see you’re doing well. stay safe ❤
In Tokyo, people wear everything they want, other people don't care much about your dress and your tattoos. I see a lot of beautiful girls wearing sexy and cool clothes and my feeling is like paradise in Tokyo haha
Loved this video! It is great advice ❤ Even when I lived in Tokyo I was stared at no matter what I wore (it was impossible to avoid). Plus Japanese summers are brutal and not all Japanese girls dress conservatively anyway (I see girls in crop tops and mini skirts daily).
I'm glad if you enjoyed it thanks for watching! 😆💗 Ah the universal gaijin experience 🫠 lol YES for sure I see girls wearing the same things over here in Osaka, Kobe etc! Good to know it's the same in Tokyo!
Hi! Is it still okay to ask anything about ALTIA? - My application just got approved. Question is, what’s the percentage of securing a position in April? (I can’t drive and am in the process of learning Nihongo.) 😊 Thank you. 💕
Of course! 👍🏻 Congratulations! 😆🎉 I applied in October for a position in April so you're already pretty early! So it should be fine granted they have non diving positions open! I took a driving placement so I'm not sure how many non driving placements the company has!
Hi there, thank you for the great video! Do you have any tips on the demo lesson video, especially the interaction with the Japanese English teacher and student?
sorry that it’s been so hard w/ the move and everything! definitely can relate big-time. my mom told me that moving and getting a new job are two of life’s biggest stressors, and doing both at the same time is always overwhelming! started following b/c I’m interested in teaching English in Japan as well. you have a lot of great content! I visited Osaka in 2017 and loved it. Best of luck, and hope things start to look up again! It’s hard to remember when times are tough, but you’re always “winning” when you’re trying to make it work abroad. the odds are always stacked against you :)
Thank you so much for your comment! 🙏🏻😭 I really really appreciate the encouragement! Life likes to test us sometimes for sure! Big changes=stressful times 🫠 Slowly but surely making it work! Thank you again for your kind words!
Hey sav. Congrats on passing the N2, hope you clear N1. All the best for that. I have been following for sometime, hope the tough time passes and you get a job you like and enjoy. Nice to see content from you though, do it at your own pace :) cheers!
Thank you so much! 🥹 This was such a nice comment! Hopefully by this time next year, things will be looking up! Also thank you for supporting my small channel! 🙏🏻
Welcome back 😊 I'm moving to Gifu end of the month and Osaka is the first place my husband wants to visit! Would love to watch a video about your favorite places in Osaka so far.
Paige! 😆 Thank you! Ah this is very exciting! ✨🙌🏻 I have a vegan eats in Osaka video planned and some cool bars as well! What other types of places would you like to see? There is Osaka Castle and Dotomburi and places like that too of course!
