Hey, welcome to my RU-vid channel! I'm a German hamster owner who loves making videos to hopefully inspire, educate and entertain some of you! While I do post videos on here, I am most active on my Instagram account (@dogshamsters) if you want to keep up with my pets :)
Hii! I have a quick question. My mom owns a flower shop and they have natural moss there it is in a bag and kept damped. But I did let it dry out is it safe to use for my hamster?
I’ve seen people use different soils or dirt like substrates in their enclosures to create a very deep spot for their hammys to dig and burrow in. Would you have a recommendation for those different substrates?
i have a large cage too, loads of stuff and deep bedding but my friend who also has a hamster tells me that it takes up too much time to clean large cages and that there's no point in making their cages so natural and interesting because they don't know any different from their caged lives. :/ seriously it's not that hard!
Hi. I’m having some trouble with my dwarf hamster chewing on his wooden cage- it’s the pawhut cage and it’s around 1000sq inches and it has a natural setup- so I’m confused why he’s doing this and if you have any tips for him to stop? Or is it because I only got him a few days ago so he is stressed? Please help xx
Imagine how expensive that is. That's why my hamster lives in a tiny tales cage.......JK my hamster is living in great care with 720square inches of floor space 💖
Your Channel is so UNDERATED!!! your videos are so amazing and have such great hamster care and information, I don't know if you have seen me on Instagram I'm Little_Hopps, I also have a RU-vid channel about hamster care, I didn't know you had a RU-vid channel, now that I do, YOUR MY FAVORITE HAMSTER RU-vidR! :)
not me watching this for the fourth time... but actually its an amazing video and your cage set ups are honestly what my goal is, someday i'll get there, hopefully in the next year or two!!
Hi! I love your cage and I really want to update my hamster cage. So I would like to ask you that did you buy the cage somewhere or did you diy it? It looks amazing and is really huge!
I’m 75% sure I asked this question on your Cage tour- thanks for your explanation! I have seen other European hamster 🐹 caretakers take the same approach to cleaning 🧼. 💕
I do exactly the same. Clean the sand bath that they pee in everyday, by sieving out the pee, wiping it then putting the "clean" sand back. Picking out poops and old food. Replacing some bedding (not substrate) and that's it. Very occasionally I'll remove all the substrate to sweep out the bottom then put it all back. I replace cardboard boxes and wipe the wheels when needed. They have the majority of their substrate their entire lives and I can sniff a fistfull of it and I promise, it does not smell bad. People don't seem to believe me. This video is great x
When you said truffle is “obviously stressed” how did you know? I couldn’t see any particular behaviours, and I would love to be educated! Also can I just say you and the other accounts on hamstergram have been SO helpful to me, I live in the UK where most “good” enclosure setups are still mediocre compared to German ones. I have recently placed a big order from Getzoo, bought some Mixerama hamster food and put various sprays in my detolf enclosure. I have a winter white who is going to be so spoilt thanks to you!
That's so great to hear, and I hope your little hamster is going to like everything! If you look at Truff throughout the video, especially at the beginning, you can see that his ears are pulled back, he's flinching (0:55) and he's also trying to hide in his nesting material at some points. I hope that clears some things up :)
