Always did enjoy watching these 2 teams collide. An old rivalry, stemming out of the early seventies that featured many great battles. But as good as those teams were, they were never able to win the ultimate prize. And even today, the Vikings still have not. If there were ever a time, that ‘98 squad most definitely should have been the one to capture a Super Bowl title.
Tough loss for the Cowboys. Game was blacked out, locally; because the team wasn’t doing so well. Their record was padded by a couple scab team victories. Their secondary was awful and they couldn’t pass block. Also had no deep threat receivers. Danny Whites wrist was never the same, after having broken it in ‘86; but he and Renfro made things interesting that day.
Just off the top of my head...I believe the 67 yard screen play was not the longest offensive score in 1998. Robert Smith had a 74 yard TD RUN at Rams in week 2.
Legendary but it would’ve been the greatest moment in sports history if he had actually dropped trow. Never would’ve played again, but my God it’d be amazing.
Lol , I had just started a new job with Eagle Snacks in C-Bus , Ohio when this game was played . Everyone was either a Bengal's or Brown's fan so I didn't endear myself to the staff after celebrating this massive blow out for my Vikings by wearing my Carter jersey 😂 !!!
I remember my Uncle had a subscription to Sports Illustrated and got this VHS. I was in the 5th grade at the time and he let me borrow this. I finally gave it back to him after a year! I loved watching the highlights on this back in the day!
I've never seen any other NFL player make other NFL players look so silly as Percy Harvin could. Next to him, they could appear as if moving in slow motion. I don't think he was the best player ever, but I think he was up there with the most gifted.
