Hugely underrated game in Vikings history. Green is almost certainly fired if they lose this game. That happens, the odds they draft Randy Moss go way down. We don't get 98, and if the Vikings then keep having trouble selling tickets who knows if they even stay here.

Cool to see Cunningham and Co leading a comeback the year before Moss joins and they dominate the NFL, I forgot he had played for a stretch in 97 too. The late 90s were a mini golden era for the Vikings, at least by their standards. Thanks for posting!

The ultra rare Carter drop 2:52. I remember I was so mad when Green opted to punt 7:05 and thought he blew it right there but fortunately the team pulled out a miraculous win and saved him from having to answer for that. Skol Vikings!

I remember this game because I had a dream the night before that the Vikings won on a last-second field goal. The next morning we were listening to the game while driving to northern Iowa to see family, getting there around halftime. I didn't tell anyone about the dream until it came true, when I told my mom about it. Of course she thought I was fibbing so I didn't tell anyone else.

I remember watching that game and thinking same thing when vikings punted with 4 minutes left and down 2 scores.

Had been a long time coming for a playoff win and they played awful for most of the game only to somehow steal the win in the last few minutes. I'm still pretty sure Jake Reed's TD would be overturned with replay for having one foot on the end line, and even the final FG barely snuck in, but still a memorable victory. Thanks for posting!

Man that Giants team under Fassel was underrated. As a lifelong Giants fan this game was possibly the one that stung the most but hats off to Minnesota for digging deep (road game too).

Thanks, funky, I don't remember this game. I must have been working that day. I forgot how good Jake Reed was. We had a good offensive line then but the Giants front 7 were tough.

I remember at the 2:00 warning I was thinking: "There's no way they're going to win this". Then After Chris Walsh recovered the onsides kick I was pacing in my living room until Murray made that FG. That was one incredible comeback!

I was always a Vikings fan. But this was the game that made me a die-hard. My family all went upstairs (too disgusted to watch). I had to watch alone knowing that it was glory or gore before me.

That literally might have been Jason Fisk only career sack. He was that bad. Denny Green only drafted him because of his Stanford connection. Fisk was described as a cow on ice skates against the run.
