I am Master Adrian - a 4th Dan degree, former National Team Member, multiple National Champion and international medalist in Olympic sparring from Romania. With over 20 years of experience in the game, this channel represents a platform where I can share the knowledge, tips and skills I've learned and continue to learn throughout my Taekwondo journey. My goal is to share methods of training in Taekwondo for kids and people of all ages, but also what it takes to develop a winner's mindset. We will also share our students progress, as well as the way they train and compete at W1 Taekwondo Academy, located in Portland Oregon. Don't hesitate to reach out!
This is great i just graduated to a green belt blue stripe and got sparring week im definently using number 1 & 2 today been trying to find ways to switch my kicks up

Hello sir! I’m a 1st Dan assistant instructor in Michigan and I have to say your channel has been an awesome source for material and drills for when I’m leading classes, and for my own practice as well. Thank you for all you do, and wishing you and your students/staff the best!
I think Taekwondo is a little behind the science in terms of going into stretches before warming up. As a kid, I could just drop into a split. For teenagers and adults without flexibility, stretching cold is not the best idea. Every school I’ve been to follows the same stretching routine before we even get moving.
@@W1Taekwondoit looks like the Taekwondo answer to karate combat, more kickboxing than anything. Look up Komat Taekwondo. There’s several Oregon schools involved and most of them are Kukkiwon/WT but it’s open to all styles.
I’m brand new to sparring, and have been struggling with the concept of avoiding kicks to the back of the opponent. I realize from watching this video that I’m approaching it from the perspective of a 2-dimensional plane when I should be thinking about how to move around my partner to make my kicks more effective. Thank you!
I'm not used in doing much combos during sparing cause' I may get hit at the middle of it, what should I do to practice combo-ing more? Amazing video btw.
Small nitpick: those are not rotations, as the femur is not rotating inside the hipsocket there. You're abducting and flexing/extending the leg at the hip, making it move in a circle, but not rotating it around it's own axis. Doesn't matter for training though, kicking is probably more about extension/abduction anyway, so excuse my pedantry💩 Great tips otherwise, thank you!❤
