Okay I have a question planning on doing the AFM/DOD delete. With cam lifers and new gaskets on my LC9. And I was bitten by the while I’m in there big. So I’m gonna do new oil pump etc. etc. is it possible to get a oil pump with to much volume for a lc9. I just want to put a good oil pump in my truck after doing the AFM/DOD delete.
If you didn't eat a hot fudge cake at Shoney's then you didn't eat at Shoney's. Miss the one in D-town. Nice car btw. Whiteville, or Wytheville? The second one locals pronounce "Withville"
Keep making videos guys... do some more full builds I guarantee ur numbers will go up...people wanna see the work not just the numbers. The dyno videos are still cool but we wanna see more
I just did mine. It had the groove and I used the melting green ring. I lubricated it with oil first but it pushed in hard… once pushed in it seemed like there was a reasonable amount of movement though. Same exact behavior after replacement, 30psi hot idle, it always had at least 40 before about 20k miles ago. Coming up on 300k and I was hoping this would fix it. So these aren’t supposed to push them fairly hard?
Getting ready to do the same thing with my 2012. But I might do a stage 2 MAYBE I don’t want to start breaking other stuff. The whole point of swapping the cam is to get rid of AFM/DOD.
I have to do this on mine soon lol. Was trying to figure out the best fix and was also thinking of just using 2 long bolts. This popped up in perfect time haha.
i got a question???? does anything’s fuck up if you take the cumputer off and tune it without the truck?? the truck alr has a tune it just needs the efans programmed now
Another fantastic build team, well done 💪 I think Dusty said the heads had not been taken off so am I right in saying the lifters were not replaced when the cam was swapped? Just wanted to ask if it's OK to do that or do you prefer to fit new lifters when a new cam goes in? Maybe as this was a low mileage car there was no need, just interested in your thinking around this. Thanks as always for the videos and appreciate the efforts you go to producing content for us 🙏
Nice. Takes me back .I had an lq4 with ls3 heads and l76 intake(no work) and pat g cam 230/238 that made 465/432. I loved that engine. Had alot less money in it than this one. 😊
As a person who's had a lot of experience with centri blowers I would strongly only recommend getting ones that you plan on either spinning to max impeller rpm or slightly overspin so they don't lag, Also gearing is very important on centri's because if they have bad gearing like a C7z does on the auto's in 5th the acceleration will be very bad. PD blowers make up a lot for bad gearing or being in the wrong gear on both autos and manuals but centri's have to be in the right gear and rpm when racing.
