Awesome content mate, I’ve got a dmax here needing some Munji upgrades from you. Looking forward to following the rest of this build and will definitely contact you soon.
Surely this vid makes you want to build a new motor for this beast! Always wanted to one day tour Frazer with my collie and your rodeo such a well built rig!
Hi Jared. Good advice. I have done all my plugs with dielectric grease barr that one you did on vid. I can't for the life of me get it to disengage. Is there a trick to removal or a knack I am missing? Cheers!
My auto BT50 did this. Rattles on idol some times until it breaks more. Mazda inspected a few times over the space of a few months and didn’t find it. Someone online posted there’s, I stuck my camera on video in and saw the same cracks, both sides completely cracked and centre bush flogged. Took back to Mazda and they didn’t still even diagnose it after I showed them photos and told them what happened. Didn’t accept their no, they reinspect and agreed to finally replace. I suspect it has happened to a lot of these unknown to the driver yet!
Hey quick question do your 2 inch body lift kits have a gear stick/ lever extension i dont know if this is a thing or not just been told about it but didnt see it in the body lift video
Great channel, great products, great info! My stock 2023 MUX since day 1 brand new has a feeling of movement/ play through the steering wheel whenever the suspension is moving (compression or rebound). Most noticeable when stoping at a set of lights and the suspension rebounds from compression, you can feel movement back and forth through the steering wheel that matches suspension movement. No noise/ knock whatsoever, just a very noticeable feeling of movement through the steering wheel Do you think movement in the rack might be the culprit? Of course ISUZU couldn’t find the fault, a quick bit of silicone spray on the suspension pivot points and out the door… Thanks MUNJI👍
It would be great if you could swing me a call and have a chat 0404 797 034 There is a few things in the front of these that we notice but the rack adjustments is nearly always the main issue. Next is the racks design in general. Its pretty ordinary unfortunately
Just bought a Isuzu Dmax 2024 brand new, same symptoms. I noticed it since very first day, I took it to the dealership with just 1000kms and they couldn’t find anything, they said “it’s normal” in these trucks 😢
Does this apply to 4jj2? I feel the ladder chassis has been engineered with a tad too much flex causing a few issues. The issue video subject mount, inner guard cracks and the body mount failures imho and the suspect re this being the flimsy front bolt up cross member. Replaced that myself with the cross member from Superior Engineering for diff drop. That plus full chassis Boos Bash plated to transfer case. Combined chassis flex reduced imho and as a result less stress on engine mounts, on body mounts and other components reducing failures imho. This is just a theory of mine. Keep up the good work and mod ideas mate.
Thanks, mate. Yes, bash plates will increase rigidity, but crossmembers won't unless there is diagonal bracing in it. The flex in the chassis is to improve drive quality along with a lot of other aspects ie. Softer, body mounts and engine mounts. Some are just simply poorly designed but great for spare parts departments... This one here is directly related to the new rear engine mount/gearbox mount on the manual and auto of the 4jj3 platform.
Excellent video, same issue on my 2022 since new. First service this week and they couldn’t find anything, I’ll take it back and ask about this specifically.
Make sure they jack the car up off the ground, put the wheel on full lock to the left and move the wheel front to rear by the wheel and watch the rack move up and down within the body of the rack.
@astingordon-cooke6633; what was the symptom you noticed when driving yours- did you have a feeling of movement/ play through the steering wheel? Trying to diagnosis my issue, having the same problem with ISUZU, they checked but say they can’t find anything Thanks heaps 👍
@@mattpearson5339 So my car goes in tomorrow to be inspected but my symptoms are a very noticeable judder/play in the steering rack that feels vertical more so then front to back. It is audible with the stereo off in specific situations such as roundabouts and very flat/smooth bitumen. It is mainly prominent when turning at 50+ kmph.
@@astingordon-cooke6633 that sounds very similar to mine, hope it all goes well for you with today’s check and keen to hear how you go! To feel movement through the steering wheel in my mind it has to be the rack or the column itself, and given MUNJI’s video it’s looking like play in the rack is a likely cause on both our vehicles Fingers crossed for you and let me know how you go 😊👍
G'day mate These are 16 x 10 neg 44 beadlocks. Thought I'd try out some of this guys stuff: facebook.com/marketplace/profile/1105204575/?ref=permalink&mibextid=dXMIcH
G'day mate only needed for this model because of the bolted style body mount. Earlier models just need a plate cut up and welded in place, much easier.
Good info especially with the tray bending without that block there. I gotta say though seems like lots of work and more importantly $$ just to run 35"s also I'm not a fan of cutting into the body mounts, but the billet parts you guys made were very nice. Again not my car, not having a go at all. However it does look good.
Thats a very honest bit of feedback mate cheers. I do appreciate it. The 35's are an over compensation but for this build its needed for a pure offroad rig. Normally I stick to the 33's or 35 AT's on my patrol but even for 33's with a big offset the chop is needed. If you get the clearance from castor adjustment you running a high risk of making the bumpsteer issue even worse. But these 35 are way too agressive for any street car, I do wanna check it out with a more sedate tire and offset 😉
Mate from what I've felt with it so far. I'm pretty sure it will be going in the bin. I will do my first trip with it to give it a good run but I'm already guessing a bouchy ride and kidneys failing 😆
Just bought one for my jackaroo same as the tf r9 rodeo. I broke my front diff and decided to get these. Dropping the whole front axel to replace a cv is fucked
I hear what you are saying about alloys vs steel , but LR wolf steel wheels are rated to 2200kg , wouldn't think there are many alloys rated at that. Great vid
More so with the suspension performance gain with ligthter components (these wheels are by far the heaviest set I've had to fit up lol) but the theory behind unsprung weight is critical. I totally understand the ease of repairs to steel rims too.
I believe that artic truck has cut the inner body panel to fit in those 35s and some body mount frame works. Btw Amazing content from you guys! Looking forward for the builds 🍻 cheers from sabah borneo!
Running a little late with our next episode but she's looking a lot less like a written off rig but definitely looking more and more not road worthy lol (thats the plan though 😅)
We are so close to finalising them mate. We have already released our Series 1 (2003-2011) but the S2/S3 is sent out for second prototype manufacturing. So we are hoping this set is final and then get crackin with the production run.
I’ve just seen your 4JJ3 rig build video and see it’s a statutory wright off. Can you tell me what was the damage that made it a wright off. To me, the damage you’ve stated seems minor and won’t take much to make it drivable. It seems to me that the statutory wright off rules have got far to strict over the last decade.
G'day mate Its a shame to see go to waste at the minor amount of damage we have seen. -It has slight damage to the chassis plate that protects the power steering motor. -bent uca on left side -melted plastics from being close to a fire. -codes related to missing radars at rear. Other than that its seems fine. But being stolen recovery sometimes they do state unknown engine damage from being thrashed.. Still a pitty but a score for us to assist with further research and development.
Thanks mate. I know there is gonna be a few hurdles but thats part of the fun right... Got our first few already which we will be showing over our next couple episodes. Come check it our some time mate. 🍻
Thanks mate. We are just about ready to release episode 2. With a bit of lift and wheels its gonna be huge lol. So much more to come so please stay tuned
A decent-looking bull bar for starters, most of whats on offer for the 2013-2016 sticks out way too far and makes the MUX look like it has a massive underbite. AFN bar is good but it still juts out and ruins the approach angle, and the look. The style they developed for the 2020 DMAX looks great. @@jaredmcleod3999
