Thanks for the video it was a big help in my install on my taco!! One thing I'd like to point out, especially on the earlier 1st gen taco's is that you need a ball joint press to eliminate the ball balljoint from the control arm as "hitting it out" with a hammer will crack. And i was using a jack in the drive way as not everybody is fortunate to use a lift. But other then that hands down agreed the best explanation of how to swap over the UCA's and install the coilovers. You do NOT need the sway bar what so ever as the coilovers are perfect and there is barely any "body roll" like others state in some forms! Hats off to yah!! 🤘
Which trim of gx 460 is this premium or luxury model.. I got an option to buy one of these wondering which will be better for off-road build at the same time on road smoothness with less body roll?
Hi ..tell me something is this the same ball joint as the Toyota Land Cruizer Prado ( I m in Mozambique ( Africa ) ) and we do have a lot of this cars where and they are known as the ball joint faliures cars i do have the part numbers ..can you tell me if you do have the proper one for it ??
With prolonged exposure to those conditions you'll want to make sure you're regularly cleaning the entire undercarriage and keeping the uniballs as clean as possible. Those conditions will certainly wear down uniballs faster than normal but a worn set of uniballs won't fail and cause extensive damage the way a factory lower ball joint would.
My TC UCAs are 8 years old and squeak like I’m holding seagulls hostage in my undercarriage. How many pumps are expected, I’ve got + 200k miles on my pair. 2010 Toyo FJ. 3” Toytec Billstein setup too. Thanks
Have you performed regular maintenance by greasing them every 5,000 miles? If you have 200k on your UCA's, you're well overdue for fresh new bushings and uniballs.
This is a nicely designed tool. I used it a few days ago and it works well. However, there's an affordable universal press sleeve kit that can do the same thing and also be used for a multitude of different jobs like wheel bearing replacements and control arm bushing replacements. If you already own a hydraulic press or plan on buying one, I highly recommend the investment in the universal press sleeve kit which is only slightly more expensive than the specialized Total Chaos tool. If you don't plan on doing press work, then the tool featured in this video is a solid purchase. I can't link my video here, because it will most likely be flagged as spam. If you're interested in seeing me use the press sleeve kit to remove and install a uniball joint on a set of aftermarket upper control arms, just go to my Timmy the Toolman channel and search for our "UCA Uniball Replacement" video.
Just uploaded a video of this kit. No cool supercharger whine though ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tVX_vI44D9E.htmlsi=So-272ulKiaXvvAy
Shoot an email to info@chaosfab.com and we can put together a quote replicating that GX460's suspension setup. Unfortunately we don't do installs but would be happy to refer you to a shop based on your location. In the meantime check out our entire GX460 collection here: www.chaosfab.com/2010+Lexus-GX-460-Off-Road-Suspension-Accessories
Not aware of any weight differences. Here's a link to the one we've used in the past. www.grainger.com/product/4JB33?gucid=N:N:PS:Paid:GGL:CSM-2295:4P7A1P:20501231&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA5rGuBhCnARIsAN11vgQ-fwWUHgtz4weQ4wJYZZqESOD6Nc4Hwb_FTqrkBobPIyaswyA_rusaAgwREALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
