@@fivedotsdave9723it should be noted that the group b that we all love so much was stopped in part due to crowds being silly like these people, but keep making fun of people for worrying about safety.
You are absolutely bang on the money mate. Don't listen to that plank of wood who's just a brainless petrol head. A little history here! Once upon a time in the late 70's early 80's the Circuit of Ire rally was a great international event on the rallying calendar. The top teams and the top names all came. Hannu Mikkola, the late Heni Toivonen, Penti Arikkula and Ari Vattenin amongst others. Along with great British drivers like Jimmy McRae, Russell Brooks and Tony Ponds and legendary Irish drivers like Billy Coleman and Bertie Fisher and Austin McHale. The Circuit was a great event bringing a jamboree of rallying over the Easter weekend back in that era. Then there was a horrible crash in a local rally with 5 spectators killed. With the result being the Coi rally was cut down, the big sponsorship was lost and those big names never returned because the event was undermined. Obviously the loss of life is utterly tragic but the fallout in terms of the event is unrecoverable. All because of fcukin idiots who haven't got a Scooby do about safety.
Colin inspired me to actually start driving. I remember when I was a kid around 6-7 years old and I played Colin McRae 2005 on the family computer. I also remember that I always wanted to watch Group B and McRae DVD's as a kid. Now I'm 15, my parents gave me a cheap little car to learn to drive in, for the 5 months that I've been driving, I changed my point of view of everything. I thought asphalt (track, hill climbs) were my thing, until I drove once on tarmac and gravel once. My ultimate dream is to become a rally driver, even a not very successful one, when I grow older. Everytime I see a meaneye Impreza I think of you. Thank you, Colin, you made my summer and opened a door for me, that I never thought would be opened. Next year I can legally compete in actual races and I cannot wait. Rest in Piece, Legend! 💔
How are you doing? Are you racing? I just saw this documentary and was going to write “good luck” to you racing and saw it’s 2 yrs old😂. Did you get to start racing?
Born to go flat out. That's why i idolize this Man. I remember when he participated to the Dakar rally. Unfortunately he retired by crashing the car, but man, the speeds he was putting where surreal. Special driver!!!!
Absolutely the best motor sport in the world well come two the WRC epic 🙏🙏🙏 and Malcolm Wilson I loved the Michael pilot escort cosworth it's still my most favourite WRC car and I still have this one from my profile picture the best day ever so glad I was born in the 80s and bein able two see this 👍👍👍
This mans passion won peoples hearts all over the world and even motivated so people two take this sport further and further god bless McRae and his family ✌✌✌
We already had a lot of biopics of great talents, Ray Charles, Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles, Niki Lauda and James Hunt...Colin McRae should be documented in Biopic...
In all rally fans, including me... the number one best rally driver will always be Colin McRae... regardless of how many Championship he had won or anything, but his flamboyant, determination, sideways and never give up easily-style is what makes him a legend....he really deserves a biopic movie...
Meeke is indeed “uk”…but when it comes to rallying he has no allegiance to any flag, he loves all support from both sides of the Irish divide….great driver and great bloke.
