My on board racing videos from my 1963 Triumph Spitfire and Elva Courier prepped by Chequered Flag Racing. We're based out of SoCal trying to hit as many west coast tracks as possible!
Excellent video and good track driving. As another Spitfire race car owner I applaud you. What track is this? And what is the device mounted in front of the windscreen? What size engine are we running??? And last what gear ratio in the rear? Cheers from Texas.
Thanks! This is Buttonwillow Raceway in California. That device in the windscreen is just an unused mirror mount. Whats behind you does not matter! Its a 1300cc with dogbox and a 3.9 rear end
Car looks and sounds fast! Hope you get it sorted! Your dust cloud caused me a big pucker moment (you see in my video in a few days) and I got blasted but tons of stones but it's all part of racing I'm just happy you and your car got thru with no big damage and no other cars......see you at the next one!
Thanks Larry your Z is really fast! We do have an oil pressure gauge and I checked it when I saw the initial smoke and it still had oil pressure so.. and yes we do have an idiot light but didn't have time in install it before this race.
Great job! As a fellow Spitfire owner, it tickles me to see it is still doing what it's designed to do. (True, it's a 1500 and thus it is DP, not FP, but it's the thought that counts). I do question your apparent lack of a windscreen, though. That's legal?
