as a suggestion.. its much harder but more correct to have their hands more under their chest when doing these drills... when on a field are your hards that high... cut corners now cut corners in life
You have all the answers about something you've never done. Where were you in 2006 when I uploaded this video? I'll bet my life you had never seen this drill
@elti54 and if anyone thinks it is SSC to football or PSC to O linemen, i pray to god you dont coach football, moreso i pray to god you dont coach O line.
@BulldogTennis Catered to offensive linemen, yet only one of them could be an olinemen. These dont do anything to train olinemen. All this is a shoulder stabilizing exercise. Its not sport specific, hell, it isnt even positional specific. You want SSC for olinemen, get a sled, get a power ball, get cones, and use the agility ladder as it was ment to be used, for quick feet. This is a should stabilizing excerise that is all.
they have great footwork everything looked perfect but that quarterback that would go second has terrible technique when throwing the ball. after you throw the ball you are supposed to reach for your pocket that is wat a former college coach told because it is safer when you are about to get hit like that if you get blind sided after throwing the ball you wont mess up your shoulder the very important part for a quarterback
A good coaching point here is to make sure the players are over exaggerating the motions that they have to make, whether it is their plant foot or quick feet on their break downs No one moves at that pace in a game, so it is important to go slowly through it first, like they are doing here, but then get them going through a few times at full speed with a rest time of approximately 4x the amount of time it took to complete the drill. if it takes 5 seconds, they will rest for 20 before next rep.
Wow thanks man these will nail the entire body punching power and speed and co-ordination worked at the same time as core and legs. These are marked for my next kickboxing and MMA class. Thanks for these.
Then you could be a party of one. Frankly, such criticism shows, not only extreme levels of ignorance, but a complete lack of understanding of the QB position. Leading QB coaches across the country use these exact same drills. Awareness of the pocket, proximity to rushing DLmen, and ability to make quick feet help any Offensive back. Your follow thru comment is ridiculous. FT is only for the QB to not injure the arm in real game situations. Once the ball is gone, FT is meaningless in gen.
Excellent drills, coach. Thanks for sharing them. The moronic ingrates who don't think that this would be useful for football linemen have never PLAYED the position, nor have they COACHED the position. I've done both and I can tell you that this is very innovative, high yield movement.
