Thank the good lord I found this video before going to do this on the wife's Edge. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Ford and all the automakers for coming up with new and inventive ways to screw the DIY'er. It makes us exercise our brains on how to get around their buffoonery.
OMG! Followed your awesome instructions and somehow cross threaded that difficult to get to plug going back in. It felt like it was going in without much resistance and when it became obvious it wasn't, about 6-7 threads from the bottom of the plug I took it out and walla. Two of the threads were mashed down around that 6th thread up. Guess I've got to tow it to the dealer tomorrow and hope they can chase the threads and it not wind up costing me an arm and a leg. Any idea if the head on the 2.0 is aluminum? Thanks, Don
I hope so. It’s weird how it didn’t mash any of the threads until I got to around the 6th thread. Thank God I stopped when I did and didn’t keep cranking it down. Thanks for the reply.
Awesome video!! I’ve been looking at trading in our 21 Outback on a new Explorer. I like to work on my own vehicles as much as possible. This was a huge help for my decision making. Thanks very much for taking the time to share your experience with us.
That is certainly one way to do it though not usually recommended do to the fact that you can very clearly see them if I recall correctly either a Brad or finishing nail is commonly used due to how it practically disappears due to the entry being so small though given they used drywall screws did they even use ones that were long enough to be able to actually reach the wood framing inside the wall because if they didn’t then they might have been removed just by using your fingers or a small pry bar like a nail puller for example
@@fatboosh81 they have this awesome feature that allows you to swipe to the next video if you don’t like it bud. I hate I wasted 30 seconds of what seems like such a happy life you have
