I honestly never tested that. Ill be in Michigan next month. Hopefully they will be there. That will be a good thing to test. It didnt look like it would be difficult. Looked very well made and thought out.
do you find it kind of hard to step on the lower step and it hits your chins? I find the double step works better with the footing then the ultimate lower step.
This is 5 times slower than just carrying sticks... Not only is not not advantageous, this is slower and mo0re of a pain in the ass. All for what, because you are too weak to carry an extra 2 sticks?
@ItzAndrew782 not that I could tell, but they were far and antlers are small right now. The cameras we hung should give us good intel between now and September.
Ive been beat down by life it seems like 2 seasons in a row. Been tough. Hopes to a good year overall. We did just book our KY trip in September so that will be fun.
This is a great video. I started out multi-sticking, then I went to one stick and my platform and finally to a true one stick. Honestly, I miss my platform because it is just so roomy, but the advantage of having a single stick and a platform in one is too hard to beat and worth the tradeoff. This is pretty close to how I do it, but it comes down to how much you are willing to risk in terms of speed of the climb. On a small tree I never use my lineman belt, on a tree like the one in this video I always do. The lineman belt probably adds 1-2m per move (i make about 3 moves to 22 feet), but it really makes it stress free so you take yoru time. I have just resigned myself to getting to a tree 10m earlier so I can take it nice and slow and relaxed. Great technique and instruction really enjoyed it. I do have a question, on your EWO, did you add anything to the surface to make it non-slip? I hunt a lot of swamps and I am trying to find something to make it have more grip. I added some traction strips, but they don't stick well :)
Yes I added a non slip additive to the clear coat layer Coarse Grit, Clear Anti Slip Paint Additive Floor Grip for Acrylic Sealers & Paints, 4 oz. for 1 Gallon - Non Skid Paint Additive Creates Strong Slip Resistant Surface & Adds Gritty Texture a.co/d/cfz9Jzh
I also use a sterling hollow block 2 as a back up to your mad rock give me a little extra peace of mind redundancy versus hitting the ground in the event of a failure. swap out the quick like you’re using for an oval QuickLink far less likely to slip out of the rope, And I also got rid of the fourth step on the ultimAider, I found it only helps you with your first move on the ground after that it’s more shit to get tangled up in your feet. I thought that was a good climb, recommend putting in your squirrel steps every time you practice I had more problems getting that thing set up than I did learning to climb.
Great video! Can tell you definitely have time behind the system and are comfortable with all the workarounds. Question- do you have a preference in carabiner linking into the Safeguard?
@@TheHunter46176 Thanks for the reply! Just ordered the Petzl OK Carabiner upon your recommendation. Last question- have you ever ran stealth striping or anything on the carabiner to knock down metal on metal tinging with the Mad Rock/Carabiner contact?
I have but it wears off and leaves a sticky residue. I currently use nothing. If anything I would use the camo bandage tape. You know what im talking about. I use nothing though.
Hey man, I've been watching from when you started your channel. I just started one. I think you will like the S.M.A.R.T. one stix method. Would be cool to see you doing it. It's easier n safer to. Let me know what you think. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5RAXg9LovLc.html
Good video although I'd like to point out that you should have the clip on the tether rope clip opening up. I've seen that opening fail and if its up the only way the line can come off is if slack is in the line.
Easy to understand great demo and best of all no awkward um, Et, ah etc. watched guy from Pennsylvania almost same title but he only showed how to load but the demonstration was very poor. Didn’t make any mention of rope size requirement. You get an A+
That hook SOLD me instantly!! Here in Canada, once December rolls around things like to freeze up & i cant even stress how annoying it is standing at the base of a tree in the dark after a hunt with frozen fingers & a frozen quicklink.. Ultimaider really thought of everything with this set up! 👍🏼
You need a new spot screw that certain places in Pa are like sitting in a pumpkin patch n I'm not into all the people hell I was shot at by a guy while hunting he was shooting at doe that passed me n the bullet hit the next tree next to me I could reach out n touch the spot where it hit I hollered at him n he said he didn't see me how can you not see a 250lb 6'2 guy sitting in front of a big oak tree in full orange I don't get it so guys be cautious of your surroundings. Stay safe
