How to use a Madrock Safeguard while Saddle Hunting. This is one of the easiest and safest ways to rappel down after a hunt. I go through how it works, how to use it, how to back it up, and how to safely rappel with it. Thanks for watching

Probably the best explanation I’ve seen on how to use the Mad Rock and a backup! Thanks for taking the time to put this together!
@doncook3584
Easy to understand great demo and best of all no awkward um, Et, ah etc. watched guy from Pennsylvania almost same title but he only showed how to load but the demonstration was very poor. Didn’t make any mention of rope size requirement.

Good to know! 🤘
@TriggerJitsu
Great video! Can tell you definitely have time behind the system and are comfortable with all the workarounds.

Nifty little device there! Maybe one day I might rappel out a tree!

Good stuff! Do you have a video on how you attach the quick link to the working end of the repelling line?

What are your thoughts on using a max rock on a bridge to make it adjustable for SRT climbing then longer for hunt set up?
@Canadaman4403
I’m a new saddle Hunter have a couple questions how long is the hollow block where are you linked it to your side? Rigged it up from below with a second carabiner. I’ve been using the hollow block above the Mad rock and I hate it! Because it’s just a mess of ropes, And also to repel down the tree now you’re using your left hand to pull the Madrock lever as well as a piece of para cord and another clip….. it’s hard to run both smoothly to because I’m new and I had enough practice but it is not my first choice I love your idea of hooking up the hollow block to a second carabiner. You have to keep your hand on the roap anyway you may as well be moving the hollow block down with your right hand….that seems much smoother. I’m going to try it,

What kind of rope do you use?
@sentfromdaniel
Or if you’re a climber or know a climber. You can use a petzl gri gri. The industry standard for a locking belay device. Backed up with a figure 8 on a bite.
@ronfatherof4
What rope are you using and where would I get some?
@bkbowhunter1
I absolutely love repelling out of trees
@kevinvargason8835
Ok my mad rock does not open that easy.
