Many Chinese had told me that treaty of Paris had decided the limits of Philippines and therefore Philippines has no legitimate claim to Scarborough shoal and Spratlys. China's southern most territory according to their ancient maps is Hainan .China claiming almost the whole or entirety of the South china sea is causing trouble.China's claim is not legitimate. There are 3 treaties that define the Philippine territory and that includes the 1900 treaty of Washington. China doesn't really know the real history of west Philippine sea (WPS).
Now, I know why China did not attend that arbitrary in 2016. They'll surely get pulverized with Philippines' indisputable argument that is backed by a mountain of evidence, either based on the international law or historical documents. It validates my opinion that China is one heck of an encroacher, seeing all that is happening not only at sea but on land where Chinese are illegally owning lands/properties or conducting illegal businesses through POGO (thanks to our corrupt government officials) while the majority of us are oblivious. Guys, read the 1879 Derrotero del Archipielago Filipino (Spanish Official Printed Document). You can read and see for yourself on this document (with Philippine Archipelago Map) the territories of the Philippines (with longitude and latitude) outside the 1898 Treaty of Paris line yet included within Philippine Archipelago. This document proves Scarborough Shoal, Spratly Islands, Macclesfield Bank, and even Pratas Island are within Philippine Achipelago, which means they are also included in 1900 Treaty of Washington.

I hope that your institute will write an article word-by-word about this or the transcript itself with maps and photos so that it can be used by media, as well as in the editing of Wiki pages, where Chinese forces are editing Wiki pages in favor of China's position. In one wiki page, the mention of the Velarde map was even removed! In the age where students (and even journalists) use Wiki pages for learning (not just in the Philippines but globally), this is very important if we want to win in the court of world opinion. Update: After the Velarde map was re-included in Wiki pages, some editors marked the Wiki pages as "not neutral". The devil works hard but Chinese propagandists work harder.
Filipinos seemingly ready to help Taiwan incase of attack takeover from the mainland communist China government. However, Taiwan remains tight-lip about its involvement in the Chinese 9-lines EEZ claim. The China government that fled to Formosa (Taiwan) after its defeat by the communist during civil war in mainland China actually created the baseless China EEZ expansion claim called 11-lines. When the China communist government took over in mainland China it continued the claim by calling it 9-lines which it now expanded to 10-lines. My analysis tells me that Taiwan would rather side with the mainland China communist government than with the Philippines government if it means Chinese people could keep the dash lines claim. One proof of that is its occupation of Ito Aba. Think of it, Ito Aba is with Spartlys. With that, I believe that Taiwan is actually like an undercover agent for mainland China - real reason why illegal transfers of technologies of the west are rather easier for the communist China to obtain. The natives of Formosa before China took over were more like the Filipino Igorot. That lead me to warn Filipinos, you should ban Chinese nationals immigration, by any form (like the POGO operatives) if you want to preserve your own culture.

My inquiries are as follows: Firstly, the “critical date” should be when PH got her independence from the US because whatever the claim, it will be by and for the PH government. Earlier, PH was colonized by the Spanish and the US before she gained independence in 1946. So, the principle of uti posseditis juris is ICJ's internationally accepted and recognized approach by ICJ to resolving any sovereignty dispute. PH got what was given by the US under the Treaty of Manila. Historical evidence is no longer valid. What evidence for PH to rebut this statement? Secondly, the South China Sea outcrops were not stated in the territories under the Treaty of Manila 1946 and the Treaty of Paris 1898. If to consider the Treaty of Washington 1900, it only mentioned 3 islands namely Cagayan, Sibutu, and Sulu. The outcrops in the Spratly’ are just rocks (not islands) as categorized by PCA in 2016. Thirdly, the Treaty of Washington 1900 mentioned about islands outside the Treaty of Manila 1946 is ambiguous. To what extent is the coverage for all the “islands” beyond the Treaty of Manila without definite coordinates? What are the outermost coordinates under the Treaty of Washington? Fourthly, what is the evidence that the PH government administered and imposed law and order onto the “islands” that they claimed to be categorized as effective occupation? Many explorers, colonizers, and cartographers drew maps on places they visited but that doesn’t mean they can claim it as theirs. Fifthly, PH put the “new territories” into her constitution in 1987 and details are in the Baseline Law (RA 9522) 2009. Earlier, other claimants put several outcrops that they claimed into their legislation. As the latecomer, what justification for PH to take away outcrops been occupied earlier by other claimants? Because these outcrops were never under PH sovereignty (terra nullius) based on what had been stated in her earlier constitutions, not until 1987. Sixthly, PH has the right to claim the EEZ based on UNCLOS 1982 just like any country surrounding the South China Sea. But UNCLOS never deals with sovereignty.
