And once again, Grigorian´s voice lacks intensity and passion. And that´s because she is singing the wrong repertoire. The forte is forced and her color is one-dimensional. Opera has become soooo boring.

I'm not sure where this was performed, but this video is an important public record of the Anthony Minghella staging that has proven so durable at the Met in NYC (and that Grigorian sang in March, superb). This staging is just simply magical.

Un bel artiste Bernheim. Quel bonheur d'entendre un vrai ténor français. Le metteur en scene fait tout pour distraire de la musique; c'est une honte. Pourquoi le monde lyrique est-il aux mains de ces imposteurs sans le moindre sensibilité musicale?
