@@3dDesignBrosthank you so much for taking the time to reply! Your videos are really great! Do you have discord or any other service for your audience community? For questions and advices? Or is it just RU-vid. I’d love to see a place where I can find you reachable for advice.
My seven-year-old has been saving up for a 3-D printer. He really wants to start a 3-D printing business at seven years old. What was the first printer you started with? I was thinking about getting the bambu mini but now I think it might be best to get the bambu A1 and does he need the AMS Combo to start. He has saved up $300.00 so far mostly from doing a lemonade stand this summer. Should he save more to get the bigger printer?
I appreciate this video. I have an eBay store that is already five stars on all transactions since we used to do resale and took customer service seriously. I've already ordered an A1 combo, I chose that for the price point along with being able to do multicolor. I held off on the filament since I wanted to choose the best one for the best value and you helped with that. The last step I had to figure out was finding designs to print to sell. Your designs you license out solves that last problem 🙂
A great tool, a few things... -Prices are in Dollars. I'm UK so GDP.. but allowing custom currencies will be great. I don't actually think it's anything other than the symbol for costs/profits etc. -Mouse hover on acronyms.. COGS "Cost of Goods Sold" -Change business name... I did a typo and cannot edit -Export to csv for 3D models -Sort by cols... click on the headers (profit/sku etc) and see the most/least profitable parts. None are really critical, but I can imagine for a newbie a few acronyms could be explained better. I also can't see it selecting my (single) filament anywhere in the part configuration. COGS has $0 for filament yet I've provided $15 for 1kg
quick question, I also do laser engraving can you engrave on these products? I have a 3D printer given to me, which I'm getting this coming Thursday 10/17/24. It's been sitting in her garage for almost a year so I hope it still works.
@@3dDesignBros the 3D printer did not work so I'm going to start with the Bambu A1 mini and was wondering if any of your designs would work before signing up on your site.
I agree with your thought process that there isn't really a need to go with a printer that isn't self-leveling. In today's market with all of the advancements in 3D printing, they're just really isn't a need to have something that isn't self-leveling and user-friendly out of the box. I don't agree with the idea that there are only two types of people in the 3D printing world. I feel that there are those that enjoy the hobby and like to design or create things without the need to sell or profit them. I feel like those people benefit just as much from a higher end printer that has self-leveling and other features. Overall, I really liked your video.
Its sooooooo oversaturated on Etsy. Make things for practical use in automotive, aerospace etc. Basically companies/businesses who design their own products but need printing access.
Vs the P1P it could be depending on some personal preferences such as the different AMSs. My favorite right now is the P1S and is the printer I'm currently buying when I need more printers. The enclosure I find valuable.
Thanks for your little session to start a 3D-business. I'm looking for a while to start such a business in Germany. I'm a 3D-designer and engineer, have worked over 20 years in the automotive industry in the area of product development.....left it 2019. Now I'm ready to go full throttle in my own business. The only conserve I have is what kind of products should I print and sale so that I can live from this business!?! And you are totally right. You need not such a lot of money to start this business. 👍
Looking for someone to make a standard part I sell to a customer. I bought a Bambu PS1 but the volume has picked up and would rather sub these out and focus on my machine shop instead of production printing, let me know if you are interested.
Cool video, I'm sure it works in the USA fine. However in the EU international shipping costs are crazy high (at least from Hungary). Not to mention the different tax rules, or even starting a personal business officially is a pain in the *** here because of overcomplicated regulations and accountant fees. My best option to start is opening an own webshop with only domestic shipping, but this market is so small compared to Etsy or Ebay or Amazon. I already have an X1C, I had an Ender 3 V2 before, so yes, learned a lot, and tinkered a lot :D
Hi! I would like to buy a resine printer as my first printer to start my business, what do you think? I want to focus my products in different plant pots
I do much with resin printing. However I believe it can be just as profitable as FDM. With Resin you all get the benefit of it actually saving you time when you fill the build plate.
How has the A1 been going for you? I have 2X P1P, and 6X P1S, and am not at a position to invest in more machines yet. However, I joined Makerworld to start sharing files to earn gift card credits to get an A1. I was curious if you saw it as a serious single color machine that has decent longevity for when we need to batch out single color objects only. (I hate the footprint of the separate AMS, a P1S w/ AMS combo is so much cleaner and less footprint).
I agree with everything you said which is why I only the one A1. For my setup it doesn't make a lot of sense. If I needed a single color machine I would still probably go with the P1S just without the AMS.
Can i ask something?! Who is gonna order something 3d printed??? I mean, i 3d printed 3 years and i can;t immagine someone buying a product that costσ 3 times more than the product manufactured in a mold. Has no reason to do this. Except that, is gonna be also weaker than the product manufactured in the mold.
Everything I sell that could be mass produced using a mold I'm able to sell cheaper. If I can't sell it for cheaper I try to ad personalization to it which of coarse can't be done in a mold. If I can't do either of those things then I just don't sell it.
Thanks to this video, I ordered my 3d printer and eSun PLA+, black and white. I have been thinking about starting a small business for so long. Analysis paralasys is a thing, folks. Move forward, or you'll only go backwards. Thank you, 3DDB! 🎉
hey there, I couldnt find a way to send feedback except for here. FEATURE REQUEST: could you make a copy button on the 3d models so that i can make minor edits instead of creating a new model and inputting the values every single time?
You can but they will be priority boxes which you'll then over pay for shipping. You'll end up paying $4-$5 more on shipping to save $0.50-$1 on boxes.
Not a callout or anything along the lines of these, I started the process of doing the duplicate listings as stated in the video and i noticed they kept getting removed, I reached out to Etsy Support to see what's going on and this is their response to me stating about it "being allowed if we can fulfil the orders" "Ahh I see. That is currently not correct indeed despite putting different photos in it. Our systems may possibly detect that those were just duplicate and might subject for deactivation." "We currently do encourage to not duplicate posts to avoid problems with Etsy at the moment. It may only be allowed on the slightest margin, such as if you will create a physical and a digital version of the post."
I have been watching a lot of 3d printing start uo videos for beginners like myself. But one thing i noticed is that it’s rare for someone to talk about the considerations of where you can setup in your home. Not everyone has a spare room or a basement, here in the UK, to isolate the printer. Some say there fumes to consider, air temp and humidity, etc.
@@jmoney_online I mean, there isn't much to reply to. If you don't have the space then it isn't going to work, pure and simple. There isn't any other way to solve this issue other than getting a space to use.
@@winebartender6653 so you mean that the fumes are unbearable then? You didn't really answer my question though did you? Air temp and humidity..even if I did have a spare room I still have no clue what else to consider other than "extra space"
@@jmoney_online Fumes are only a problem if you are printing with certain materials. I recommend doing some research on it but pla and petg are safe to print without an enclosure. If you live in a humid environment getting a filament dryer is well worth it. Leaving filament in humidity for long periods will affect your print quality.
