What's been your 30 days of revenue from one product?

I also do 3d printed name tags in Asia. I do very small name tags for very cheap price. However, deisnging text name tag on fusion 360 for every order is real pain... In the video you mentioned you automated the text based name tags, can you give me a bit of a clue how that can be done?

The elephant in the room: HOW do you automate? Come on, man. Spill it.

Great video...thanks! You are right about fonts in Fusion 360. I switched to Affinity Design, export the text as SVG, and it's a dream come true.

2-$300 a day on average on amazon. The key is functional items and own the design. Low print time as well. My items print in 33 minutes and i own 4 p1s. So thats 8 products an hour on average.

How did you find your product ? I would love to sell functional / technical items but it seams that every idea I come up with is already done 😂

Can you make a tutorial showing how you use other peoples fonts and how you automated the text? Very curious to see how this is accomplished!
@cuthwulf
@cuthwulf 25 дней назад
Using other people's fonts is fairly straightforward. Their are site that you can find the font for sale on. You purchase the commercial license and download it and then install it on your computer and now you have it available in Fusion and other applications. I'm not sure how he automated the text.

I am loving 3D print force. It’s an amazing tool. Couple suggestions adding pre and post processing time to it. That will help with resin pricing also. However with that said you did a amazing job ing job on building it out and I use it constantly

You mentioned that you have an automated procedure to take the names from orders and create the files for printing, do you have a video or instructions on how this is done???

I'd love to make money 3d printing, but it seems like I'm always messing with something on my printer to make it print right

Thats why I buy Bambu printers. I want to print and make money, not work on printers.

How can people just sell without any certification on the materials? I don't get it...

For those wondering about creating models from text in Fusion, the process works much smoother if you create your text in a vector based program such as Illustrator or Affinity Designer. Once you're happy with your text you'll need to use the 'Create Outlines' function then save your file as an SVG. Import that into Fusion and your text will extrude without issue. Trying to extrude fonts directly with Fusion's text tool is a nightmare. It doesn't play nice with all fonts.
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros 15 дней назад
This is very true. However once you start doing volume that 6 step process you laid out is also very time consuming. When you are just starting out though it's a great option.

@@3dDesignBros Yes, agreed! I think the automation of this process is what everyone is interested in, me included! Might be giving away your ‘secret sauce’ though ;)

Let's suppose you have an injection machine and can make 50,000 items a month. Which product would you choose? How would you do it? (forget about the machine and mold costs). Part size limited to 80x80mm - 20grams
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros День назад
I wouldn't. The competitive advantage of 3d printing is that I don't have to keep inventory. The only way I would look at injection modeling is if I cam up with a product so unique, it needed pattens, and that was the only item I was planing on selling.

So i have been 3 printing for a year now. Im going to push to start my own business. Ill make a load of prints i think people will buy and take down to my local car boots. Just to see what people are interested in. My goal is to make atleast 20 different useful prints. If this works out ill subscribe and pay the monthly fee on your page. Then i will branch out to esty like you have. Ill start with what you think is popular. I hope your advice can kick start me into gear. I have a qudi xmax3 which is a great printer and ive just purchased a bambu x1 combo ams. This will help cut time and allow me to make more prints.

Cool Video, thanks. Q: If you are creating new designs; 1] How can you protect your IP? What are the steps? 2] How many designs do you need to create a library? 3] How/where do you market them? I haven't seen a video from any content creator about this process or even where to begin.
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros Месяц назад
These are great questions and a whole video could be made about it. 1. I've found that other members of community police any IP infringement better then I could. If they are following the rules and paying for a license they don't want other people stealing what they are paying for. 2. No minimum. I've seen people get started with one design because it goes viral and people want access to it. 3. For sure the best place is social media. Marketing is more important then anything. If people want the model they will let you know and ask for a link or where they can buy, etc.

Given all that time and effort, $1K a month seems unprofitable.
@3dDesignBros
@3dDesignBros 2 месяца назад
The idea is do the effort once and then it's $1k a month indefinitely. You also don't stop with just one product. You get 3, 5, 10 different products all producing and now you have a profitable business.

@@3dDesignBros Customers' needs and tastes constantly change. What works this month or this year may not work the next. "Setting it and forgetting it" doesn't seem realistic.
