Hello and welcome to my channel the home of The Loco Files and hopefully many other series to come if you like what you see then feel free to subscribe and find out where this whole thing goes also in regards to an upload schedule yeah that won't exsist for quite a while.
I was recently given an old Hornby 3821 ‘County of Bedford’ it was running horribly but with a bit of cleaning and oil, it ran perfectly. Thought I’d watch this to get some more info on the loco. Can’t wait for the rebuild of one as well.
My favorite is ex Turkish 45160 (currently disguised as 8274 as it never carried an LMS number) as I worked on that at the Great Central Railway Nottingham from 2016 till 2017 (failed in 2017 with a crack in the top of the firebox located near the crown) the locomotive was the cleaned and put on cosmetic display for 2 years (I left the railway in 2018) in 2020 the locomotive was moved out of public access and as of 2022 it has since left the railway and been relocated we believe to the yet to be completed Vale of Berkeley Railway.
46220 Coronation, 46234 Duchess of Abercorn and 46225 Duchess of Gloucester should have been selected for the National Collection by the National Railway Museum, because they were important for their speed records.
People did the best they could at the time trust me if it had been up to me we'd have more than one of each class preserved from the LNER that we do currently
If there were more Raven A2 Pacific's (I like to think maybe if 14+) and maybe made it into BR ownership, I like to think then maybe they would've received the power classification of 6P.
No matter what kind of rail fan you are, you’ve gotta love the Terriers. They’re small but perfectly formed, and were surprisingly hard working and economic. Better still, they had a variety of build forms and dozens of liveries to choose from.
It’s a shame that Silver Link didn’t make it into preservation. Billy Butlin wanted to buy Silver Link for his camp but the Eastern Region messed with him so he bought Duchess of Hamilton and Duchess of Sutherland instead.
It’s a shame that No. 4490 Empire of India didn’t make it into preservation. They would have No. 4490 donated to India if it was selected for preservation in India.
