I don't like it at all. The verse numbers are so tiny. It's like going back to the pitt minion for me. I went to the real PSQ because it was perfect. This new design has the unnecessary drop caps and tiny verse numbers. I like the new footprint size of it but they missed an opportunity to use a larger font and instead put the weird drop caps and the leafy wing things around the chapter number. It just looks weird and I honestly will just not buy anything that looks like this. The small verse numbers are my biggest issue. I LOVE the old design. I was looking forward to being able to replace mine after it wears out but now that's not an option. I'm moving on from Schuyler.
I personally love the drop caps but I hear you on the verse numbers, I love them big and bold. My main Bible is the NKJV Quentel and the verse numbers are perfect for me. Even the NKJV PSQ is like that... I hope they keep bold verse numbers if they ever make a NKJV PSQ with the redesigned format 🙏🏽
So you're encouraging people to continue to sin? Where do you get the notion of 'contrary' to eternal life? You quote verses to suit yourself. Read this instead: Rev. 20: 10 - And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
I am not encouraging people to continue to sin, I really don't know where you get that idea. I am well aware of Revelation 20:10, and the word used there "aion." Please read the previous verse that says that the fire "devoured" the wicked and the following verses the clearly say that each will be judged according to his/her works, and that the lake of fire is the second death. That death itself will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). I am not quoting verses to suit myself. Your accusation can be turned against you. I quoted many verses in the video, you are quoting one verse and isolating it from the context. I'm sure you mean well, but you are defending a doctrine that Jesus and the apostles did not teach. Jesus was very clear: "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Thank you for quoting this verse. Without Jesus no one will see life. The wrath of God abideth on him that does not believe the Son of God. He or she will "perish" (John 3:16). "He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son hath not life." 1 John 5:12 How can you believe that people will be alive without Christ in hell? Your belief basically says that God will allow sin to exist eternally. Think about it, pray about it. It's easy to believe what everyone else believes...
I personally don't care for the modern translations. Personal conviction for me through all my studies about modern translations. So I am not judging those who read from them. I would rather see something like this in NKJV.
The NKJV is my main translation in English even though I enjoy the ESV, NASB, CEB, NLT, and even the NIV sometimes. In my humble opinion, no translation is perfect and having different translations to compare is a blessing. If I had to choose a manuscript basis I would go with the Majority Text. Unfortunately, translations that follow the Majority Text are not mainstream in English, we have more of a polarized scenario between the Critical Text (giving birth to the modern translations) and the Textus Receptus (KJV, NKJV, MEV, etc). Still, God's Word is living and powerful and amazing! So many before us would like to have just one book of the Bible in their language 🙏🏽 We are spoiled beyond our imagination... Blessings!
@@crucified4me Well like I said, this is a personal. conviction. I know where the modern translations come from and I know where the Majority Text translations come from and it wasn't a hard sell for me. All I know is that when you delete whole verses from the Bible, key verses, and change words or take words away, then that sends up red flags. I know the argument is "It wasn't in the 'older' texts" but in this case, older does not mean better. From the beginning, knowing about charlatans on TBN and other channels and organizations before I was saved, I asked God to steer me to the truth and I believe He has honored that prayer and still does. I have done my homework and it is my personal conviction to not use those translations.
@@Introversitive The issue in the early church was not that people were "deleting" texts that they did not like, but that they added to it to resolve issues they saw. This is an issue. Look at Mark 16:9-20. This was added because some thought Mark ended awkwardly. As you can see, it even reads somewhat out of place with mentions of serpents, tongues, and poison. It is obvious these are things that the apostles, specifically Paul, experienced, but they do not fit with the Great Commission that is given to Matthew and is for all believers. There would be no reason to delete verses; the problem is people adding to it, which a lot of KJV folks do not understand.
@@nathanbowman6353 If you look at the verses deleted, sans that passage you shared, you will see that the verses deleted were legitimate and needed no deletion. And if over 20,000 manuscripts that make up the Majority Text have those verses, then I am happy with the Majority Text. The NIV was translated from two manuscripts that don't agree with one another. Now, I say this is a personal conviction, but I do let people know so they can make up their own minds on the matter. Just because something is easier to read doesn't make it better. The NIV and other modern translations are soft on homosexuality. The NIV is a thought for thought translation, it's a progressive translation. I do not like Nestle-Aland's New Testament as it again, takes away from Scripture. And these are key verses. One of which is "We love because He first loved us." We love what/who? The Majority Text spells it out clearly: "We love HIM because He first loved us." We cannot love unless we love HIM first. The NIV says we simply "love" because HE first loved us, totally disregarding that we love Him first. That is just one of the verses I don't care for. All I can do is point you in a direction to look at all the problems with the NIV and modern translations and get the ball rolling on Bible study. The Bible does command "Study to shew thyself approved to God." It's not to men that we do this study for approval, but to God. I'm not a King James onlyist, I use the NKJV but I do love the KJV as well. As David Hocking said, when you take the thee and thou out then you have no idea to whom the Scripture is talking about when you replace it with you and they.

This has footnotes and cross references though they are on the bottom instead of center which is the nkjv sovereign personal size reference bible. I was wanting to know if the cross reference that doesn’t exist in the nkjv gives it more textual variant notes or is it mostly, if not all, in the footnotes apart from cross references.
This one does have variant footnotes, even though it's a compact Bible. Can you tell me exactly which center column reference Bible you are referring to, so I can compare the two?

@@pollycronopolis7648 hello again, unfortunately I don't have the NKJV Sovereign, I only have a KJV in that collection. I would guess that the Sovereign has more but I'm not sure. What sounds good is good, what doesn't sound good is not good, please use your rational mind. If there was no eternal pain/punishment, that would be way to good to be true, can you believe that? God isn't to good to be real, but a temporary punishment would be to good to be real 🏔️

Does isaiah 9 v 6 say Jesus is GOD? Bible scholars say corruptions crept into the hebrew text between the 6th and 7th centuries. But the SEPTUAGINT that Jesus and the apostles quoted from was translated by Jewish scholars around 300-200BC, and came from the most ancient and reliable manuscripts available. Please note what the septuagint says and what it does not say! Isaiah 9 v 6( septuagint) " For a child is born to us, and a son is given to us, whose government is upon his shoulders; and his name is called the messenger of great council; for i will bring peace upon the princes, and health to him". The distinction between Christ and the true God is most clearly shown by the saviours own words in john 17 v 3. Hence much stress is laid upon isaiah 9 v 6 to establish the non existant. unbiblical and unscriptural trinity, it can however estabish no such doctrine as i will clearly attempt to show, Is Christ the Father in the trinity? If so, how is he the son? Or if he is both the father and the son, how can there be a trinity? For a trinity is 3 persons. To recognize a trinity, the distinction between father and son must be preserved. Christ is called the second person in the trinity; but if this text proves a trinity, or refers to it at all, it proves that he is not the second, but the first. And if he is the first, who is the second? It is very plain to me that this text has NO REFERENCE to such a doctrine.

Yes, I failed to mention the year it was published 😅maybe I'll add it to the description. I just put the two side by side and this one definitely has a bit more ghosting than my Holman LPUT. The font is also much smaller and the paper thiner. Still, it's amazing and hard to beat on the size with this layout. Thanks so much for watching!
@@crucified4me Glad to hear it has more than the Holman. I just had my Holman re-gilded in silver before sending it off to get rebound :) Yes 1992, it's cool to see it's been untouched for 32 years. I found a couple HMS Richards Study bibles like this also and they are most excellent if you don't mind the KJV ;) I also have a Holman LPUT 2013 that I found still in plastic. I might sell it since I already have this one re-gilded and ready to rebind blue under silver.

I have a Cambridge Bible that I started marking up, with no clear plan on what each colour means etc. Needless to say, it looks messy and confusing. I have a Schuyler NASB now, and I wanted to be sure of the process, that when I pick it up years later, it still makes sense. I love your way of using cross references first rather than commentary etc. Im working on “syncing” my physical Bible with Logos, so I always have it on hand. Thanks again for what you do. Well how about this ? I did a shameful sin. I did something to my friend that maybe she can't forgive me. I did that on secret. I didn't hurt her feelings or whatever. I only confessed my sins to the Lord not to humans. So should I still confessed that to her? I'm afraid because I don't want her to feel I'm weird and stuff My heart is pounding all the time because I felt like I have to tell this and be 100% transparent But the bible says I only need to confess my sins to God? I didn't hurt or sinned to her? So I'm confused
