Jesus fulfilled the law and nailed it to the cross, it died with him .The law was given as a diagnostic tool to show us our need for a saviour and the moment we put our faith / trust into our redeemers finished work , we REST from our own effort to justify ourselves { law keeping ] before God, this is the true meaning behind keeping the sabbath.Jesus is the ark and being in him or abiding in him ,we have his righteousness imputed to us ,because of this we can approach the throne of God with confidence knowing that in Christ we lack nothing...it's all his work, not yours....walk in the spirit not in the flesh

When Adventist's quote these scriptures, John 14:15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. There is no “moral” law mentioned in the Bible. The Law always refers to the Torah, especially the first 5 books called the Pentateuch. We have to stop reading “10 commandments” when the Bible says “law”. When you read and understand “law” properly, than Romans 10:4 (good buddy) makes sense: Romans 10:4 KJV For Christ is the END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS to every one that believeth. When I “believed” in the finished work of Christ for ALL sin, there is no more need for the law. The law pointed me to Christ, and now I say “thanks” to the law…..it did its job very well. Now I walk in the Spirit, with no more need for the law.

However, you will not ever be able to find anywhere in the Bible it talks about "ceremonial Sabbaths". . Jesus kept the Passover (and all the other annual Sabbaths). God's original words are exactly as he wants them, as he gave them to us and preserved them for us. Translators need to be under the Holy Spirit's guidance too, and while they did a great job with good manuscripts 420 years ago, we have more manuscripts available now and can translate better too - praise God! . I would kindly suggest that you consider videos from the channel Mark Ward. For a simple look at history can prove that God has not preserved His Word like we expect. He has allowed the human to affect His Word significantly. Yet, it is still His Holy Word. Furthermore, linguistics does not support the idea of TR superiority. The fact that we have many versions of the Bible is due to the spirit of the Reformation. God has allowed it. It was the Roman Catholic Church of the 16th century that believed that God's Word cannot be translated. So the TR position or KJV only position is supporting an idea that it should not be. Tydale was killed for this, that he wanted to translate the Bible in the vernacular. Not just that. Faithful Christians will do well to consult various translations to not be in error. dennis, where do you find "ceremonial laws" in the Bible? I've read the Bible many times, and never found that phrase. . Paul kept the Feasts of the Lord. Jesus kept the Feasts of the Lord. .

Also, if you read carefully the passage you are alluding to, you will find that the argument is very strong since the other feasts are called feasts, but the Day of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement are called sabbaths (Leviticus 23:24, 32), just like the Yearly Sabbaths in Leviticus 25:2, 4, 6; 26:34, 35, 43; 2 Chronicles 36:21. It is true that the weekly Sabbath is also mentioned in Leviticus 23, but again, there's a distinction between the feasts, the ceremonial sabbaths (including the yearly sabbaths) and the seventh-day Sabbath which preceded the institution of all the other events in the Jewish calendar (Exodus 16:27, 28). I believe that Leviticus 23 reveals the distinction between the seventh-day Sabbath and all the rest in these clear words: 37 ‘These are the feasts of the Lord which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on its day- 38 besides the Sabbaths of the Lord, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you give to the Lord. Leviticus 23:37, 38 NKJV. About that 7th point you mentioned, here it is so there's no confusion: 7 - The term “feast” used in Colossians 2:16, is the Greek word heortē, which comes from the Hebrew word hag. @@RemingtonTripp at least people who would argue (in his day) that he didn't allude to the Day of Atonement, the Day of Trumpets, or the Sabbatical years that were called sabbaths and normally not called feasts (). His list is complete, showing that all the ceremonies of the Jews that pointed to Christ as a shadow were done away at the Cross. The seventh-day Sabbath does not fit that category.

Yeah, no one is advocating here for worshiping the Sabbath but the Lord of the Sabbath. He told us the day we are to rest and abstain from secular work. He showed us how to keep it and His Creation and Redemption acts show that He has blessed and sanctified that day. He never changed it. To love Him, Jesus, is shown in keeping His commandments, not coming up with excuses not to do it. Peace.

I assume you are referring to Hebrews 4 which uses the Sabbath as a metaphor for salvation and invites believers to enter the rest of grace "today." Nothing is said about nullifying the weekly rest on the Seventh-day Sabbath, established, blessed and sanctified long before Israel was even a nation (Genesis 2:1-3).

I understand the reasoning and I agree that we find rest in Christ, the rest of grace, no doubt. But to affirm that grace sets us free to sin is to contradict the Bible (Romans 6:1-4). Through grace we receive God's forgiveness, justification and sanctification. In the New Covenant the law of God is not done away with but written in our hearts (Hebrews 8:10-12). So in a way I agree with you that Jesus is our eternal Sabbath (rest -- we are saved by grace) but that in no way leads us to break the weekly rest day ordained by God. Please consider this, can I say that Jesus is my faithfulness to my wife. Sure I can. Without Him and His Holy Spirit in me there is no good in this heart of mine. So if I say that Jesus is my faithfulness to my wife (and has been for 21 years of marriage), does that make me free to commit adultery?? Not at all. On the contrary! Faith in Jesus allows me to see that the commandments go way deeper than the letter of the law and that they should be written in my heart so I should not even look at another woman in a sinful way (Matthew 5). So by you saying that Jesus is our eternal Sabbath you really cannot prove that we are not to keep the Sabbath commandment as God has ordained us to do. Peace.

Hi, thanks for your comment. For what I explain in the video I have to disagree with you. The seventh-day Sabbath was established by God in Creation, when there was no jew (Genesis 2:1-3). It was in place even before the proclamation of the decalogue at Mount Sinai (Exodus 16:27-28). Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not for the jews only (Mark 2:27). The fact that the seventh-day Sabbath was listed in Leviticus 23 with the ceremonial sabbaths and feasts does not invalidate its validity before and after the Cross. Before the Cross sacrifices were to be made on the seventh-day Sabbath, and that's the reason for its inclusion in Leviticus 23. The seventh-day Sabbath is part of the moral law of God that cannot be destroyed (Exodus 20:1-17) and that Jesus affirmed would not pass (Matthew 5:17-19). That's where I stand but I'm curious to know if you have any Bible evidence to validate your position. Blessings.

No, in fact, God doesn’t need a physical rest like mankind on a weekly Sabbath paradigm as in Genesis there is no record of H Him taking His rest the next week apart from the first time rest. Jesus in John5:17said now He and His father works non-stop …. FYI the first command given by God on the Sabbath is in Deu5:1-3 and the rest was given exclusively for the children of Israel NOT to the children of the Japanese or the Chinese and certainly NOT to the Gentiles like you and me (Eph2:-11-12)….. Remember the audience Jesus was speaking to were Jews and He merely rebuked and reminded the Pharisees by saying the Sabbath given at Mt. Sinai was meant to be a rest for the Jews but the Pharisees load their traditions on it and it became a heavy burden to the common Jew… In Lev23 it says; quote “Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. NOTE the above verses explicitly implied "the weekly Sabbath" (Six days shall work be done but the seventh seventh day is the Sabbath of rest) BUT you just add to the word “CEREMONIAL” Sabbath when it was not there. The weekly Sabbath is the feast of the Lord in Lev23:2 and feast days CANNOT be a moral law as you erroneously claimed. Evidently, it’s a ceremonial law and it was fulfilled on the cross so it becomes invalid in the NT. Please just quote for me a verse in the NT that Christians must still keep the weeklty Sabbath. That's foolishness, I understand I thought the same thing but the Lord led me to this verse and rebuked me “He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. ” Proverbs 18:13 KJV So with an open heart and unbiased disposition I read one of her books the great controversy and I was blown out my seat. I've read many of her books and compared them with the Bible and I can say she's a true prophet without a doubt.

Here's my thoughts: 1) Jesus never taught that the Sabbath was abolished. Yes, Jesus defended the disciples for breaking the Sabbath according to the traditions of the jews, but please remember that they really didn't break the fourth commandment. Eating and what involves eating is not a sin on the Sabbath. And yes, Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, meaning that He is the One who can correctly interpret what the Sabbath is and means. If everyone would follow the example of Jesus, what He did on the Sabbath, everyone would be keeping the Sabbath in the best way possible. 2) Acts 20:7 comes after Acts 2:46, they broke bread everyday. Whatever Constantine did does not change that. 3) The 10 commandments revealed at Sinai were a part of the greater number of laws that were a part of the covenant between God and Israel, yes. However, that moral law was distinct from the other laws, it was written by the finger of God, not the hand of Moses, it was kept inside the ark, not outside like the other laws (Exodus 25:16; Deuteronomy 31:26). When Jesus talks about a law that is never to pass until heaven and earth continue He comments on the moral law, not the other commandments (Matthew 5:17-48). 4) Yes, in the New Covenant the Lord puts the law in our mind and writes the law in our hearts (Jeremiah 31; Hebrews 8 and 10). To say that in the New Covenant we are free to disobey the law is obviously contrary to the Word of God. 5) Please review your argument here, the seventh-day Sabbath points back to Creation, it is not a shadow as the other sabbaths that pointed forward to Christ (Exodus 20:8-11). Even if you think of the Sabbath as a memorial of redemption to the jews (Deuteronomy 5:15), which it was, it was still a memorial pointing back, not forward. Today you can consider it as a memorial of the sacrifice on the Cross. Jesus rested on the seventh-day in the tomb of Joseph. Yes, the Sabbath is used in Hebrews 4 as a metaphor of the rest of grace we receive in Christ, I have no doubt about that. However, nothing is said about the annulment of the validity of the seventh-day there or anywhere in the Bible. 6) I answered the argument about Colossians in the video. The argument about being still in the rest of God that started in creation is tremendously weak. You mean that God commanded Israel to keep the weekly seventh-day Sabbath as a memorial of Creation (Exodus 20:8-11) but in reality we are not to see it that way... There's no mention of evening or morning concerning the seventh-day in Genesis 2:1-3, I wonder where you get that idea? I respond to many of your other arguments in the video. Did you watch it? Hebrews 4 speaks of "today" as the day of salvation, in which we enter the rest of grace when we accept Christ. Nothing is said about cessation of the weekly rest. You quote Isaiah 66:23 and completely destroy the clear meaning with your interpretation... Yes, rest from this world and life of sin awaits us in the hereafter, and it will be continual, but Isaiah 66:23 speaks about the Sabbath as a weekly day of worship. @@earlysda I just told you, I keep the real Sabbath Rest of God and not the shadow given to Israel. There is a difference between God's Sabbath in Genesis and the 7th day Sabbath in Exodus. The 7th day Sabbath was model after God's Sabbath in Genesis. 7th Day was observe on a weekly basis. In Genesis, God enter into his Sabbath rest once and remain in it to this day. He never observe it on a weekly basis the way Israel did. Remember, Sabbath is a Rest and not a Day, Month or Year. Times are only shadows. The same Sabbath Rest in Genesis was made available in Christ. It's a rest for our soul (Math 11:28,29). Before Christ, God gave the 7th day Sabbath to Israel to observe which point to the real Sabbath rest of God in Christ. Now that the real Sabbath Rest of God is available, let us make every effort to enter into it. And the day to enter the Sabbath Rest of God is Today (Hebrew 4:7). Does this abolish the 7th day sabbath? No. The Jews can continue to observe the 7th day sabbath as this is part of their covernant with God. But more than that, they are required of God to enter the real Sabbath Rest of God in Christ. That is the message of Hebrew 4. As for us gentiles who are outside of the previous covernant, Our new covernant in Christ does not bind us to the 7th day observance. But we are required to enter the real Sabbath Rest of God in Christ the same way God enter into his Sabbath Rest in Genesis and must remain in it. So we still observe the Sabbath, but we keep the real Sabbath the way God kept it and not the way Israel kept it which was the shadow. If you don't take the 7th day Sabbath as shadow, then that is your rightful interpretation and I respect that. As for me, Sabbath Day is a shadow of Sabbath Rest.
