Poetry does exist within the frames of this film. Profound, dreamlike and realistic. The depth of humanity of these characters more than anything, burns itself into the memory of the viewer. I also think Jason Scott Lee has it within him to be one of the great actors of our time, but after a few years of wonderful work in the early 90's he didn't get any more of these meaningful parts. And I can't for the life of me understand why.
My favorite movie is The Dark Knight as you can probably tell from my picture here, but on some days, I go between that film and this one. I do think this is a better film though. So powerful. Everyone is excellent in this film and I think Lawrence Fishburne does not get nearly enough credit for his work in this as Furious.
R.I.P JOHN SINGLETON (JANUARY 6th, 1968 - APRIL 28th, 2019) YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED FROM THE HEAVENS 2 ALL OF US. 😢😭🙏🎥📀📼🎞️🎬🇺🇲🍿 STAY SAFE, HUH? I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU, BUDDY. 🌄🌈
The Football scene is the most powerful because it's not Black on Black crime it's good vs evil, weak vs strong the big dude when it panned down on his character he was a good guy in the hood while short narrow back hand guy was bad not all are same and yes the big guy knew he loved football what's crazy he see himself in that guy you can tell they all use to play sports and the hatred they had for themselves trickled down so they pick on kids it's such a powerful moment no reason to hate cause YOU AINT GOT IT AND SOMEONE ELSE HAS A CHANCE
I FINALLY found out the name. I remember watching this movie as a young boy. It made me cry it also had some very interesting 😂 scenes like the one on the air balloon. Nonetheless it’s always been burned into my memory.
Man, that was such a great time for black art. The movies and music coming out then... It gives me chills. And you really valued the experience before the internet exploded. Don't get me wrong, the internet has its pluses, but it changed the way we experienced movies and music. You value something less when it is so easily, widely available.
Because the standard still existed. Siskel and Ebert and any other critic weren't going to automatically like films and/or Hollywood wasn't going to automatically shower them with nominations and awards just cause they were a minority, ... or female,... or non binary
Whenever I pull up scenes from this movie, this is the first one that comes to mind. It is indeed unforgettable. I often ask myself, would I rather be werewolf or die of natural causes?
Rip om puri. Seen this movie when i am at 5 th grade. That time i didnt know the english well but i can catch some part. But the line""the demon wolf is not evil unless the men who is bitten is evil. """"Has just printed in my conscious🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@iyerzzzzz I am impressed that Nicholson held back & didn't over-act, which is why we can differentiate between Nicholson & his character. I say this because in some of his roles, Nicholson's character is pretty much, well - Nicholson. Anyway, both actors made this scene perfection, and not one or the other. It certainly works.
