This was the first time I saw Om Puri in film. His scene was less than 10 minutes long. But it was unforgettable. Like he says at the end, "It's been a privilege. I've never seen one like you."
@@iyerzzzzz I am impressed that Nicholson held back & didn't over-act, which is why we can differentiate between Nicholson & his character. I say this because in some of his roles, Nicholson's character is pretty much, well - Nicholson. Anyway, both actors made this scene perfection, and not one or the other. It certainly works.
I love how in this film Jack Nicholson's character goes on to research about wolf legends and possession rather than being the usual sceptical clueless protagonist.
@Heavy Mike I wouldn't say he had full control. The wolf side was controlling his impulses and accentuated his underhanded personality. Will was always the alpha wolf though
Rip om puri. Seen this movie when i am at 5 th grade. That time i didnt know the english well but i can catch some part. But the line""the demon wolf is not evil unless the men who is bitten is evil. """"Has just printed in my conscious🙏🙏🙏🙏
IMO, perfect metaphor for manic depression: 'power without guilt, love without doubt' (and Nicholson's knowing smirk). If it were only possible to have the self-confidence of the manic phase without the ensuing crash . . .
I still remember once believing I saw this actor while I was going to Musical Comedy classes. The man was dressed like here in the movie, I told my friends and only one girl believed me
Whenever I pull up scenes from this movie, this is the first one that comes to mind. It is indeed unforgettable. I often ask myself, would I rather be werewolf or die of natural causes?
The demon wolf is not necessarily evil unless the man he has bitten is evil. That makes a lot of sense, considering that Stewart's original sin is lust, and now murder.
Dam, this wise mystic was in the wrong movie. He should have been in Interview with the Vampire; would have gotten his wish easily! *Also, Will's a dick for not biting the doctor
