this is a great video on what you should be choosing, i did start with a logitech g920 and transitioned to irl drifting (not on tracks XD) and noticed where the logitech lacked feedback as mentioned and you really need to rely on visual queues in game and soon will be getting the moza r9 as an upgrade to when im in the country my home address is in since here I only have a fwd 1.0 econobox as a daily while every couple of months i head back to my home country where we daily just about anything you can think of from e21 bmws with 500bhp to LS swapped e32s to 900+bhp e34s :D
Is it possible that doing a donut in one direction feels easier than the other? For example I can do donuts while turning left easily, however I can't hold a donut while going right
Absolutely possible. You may find you feel more confident or have an easier time in one direction than the other cause you sit close to one side and have to look “across” the car to the passenger side of the car, for example. Also IRL cars with stock differentials may only be able to spin one wheel, and in that case they drift kinda decent when that wheel is on the outside, but in the other direction when it’s on the inside the car won’t step out.
@@KameTrick Thanks for the detailed reply, furthermore, is it possible for this bias to translate directly to sim drifting as well. As this is where most of my seat time is spent?
@@sp69same I have a sim rig at home and am trying to learn to drift, but I drift a lot better going left than right. It probably is because I’m right handed and control it more with the right side of the wheel, but I’m curious to know the answer
ok so its getting close to time for me to build mine. one suggestion i have on the dust problem. im going to look for some grainy boards and im going to stain mine. taked an extra 5 mins when grabbing materials and stained wood always looks nice. they have some newer urethane coatings that will leave it with a nice wet look always. but it also drys a nice flay smooth and encased board. its a hard outer coating like laminating the board and very durable. the wood wont rot or be susceptible to moisture either. with a nice red brown stain then the clear coat you can make a very rich looking board from a basic 2x4. i even scored a free car seat to use for mine. it has flip down arm rests too for those cruising sessions or long races.
im gonna start building when i get back from vacation, man i cant wait! I’ll buy a logitech g920 used for 150€ w pedals and shifter, i’ve seen your video where u go into detail why 2nm is not enough but honestly it doesn’t really matter😂 i plan on playing snowrunner and mudrunner, fs etc. mayen some forza here and there but till i get a pc that does the job. The very good ones dont seem to even work on xbox or at least not to their full potential
