Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity found its earliest inspirations as a grassroots movement on an interracial community farm in south Georgia. Since its founding in 1976, the Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.

They allow workers with no experience to work alongside professional workers who can teach them how to do the work safely and learn a trade. The worker can continue to gain experience and develop a new career in a particular trade such as plumbers and electricians.😊
I live in Florida and you only get habitat homes if your a certain race!! Isn't fair and shouldn't be given only by color. I see families of all races everyday desperate for a safe place to call home for their family.

Correcting the past is as useless as catching up on sleep, IMO. Move forward in neutrality, rather than make new groups suffer the same way people of color historically did. Two wrongs don't make a right.
You need to do some research into generational wealth. Your concept of "neutrality" leaves the mistakes of the past to continue as some people carry the advantages they were given in the past. Think of it like running a race but some people have to wear a ball and chain for the first 5 minutes. When the ball and chains come off then things are "neutral" but they are still behind and likely won't catch up without help. It sucks that we have to make sacrifices for the mistakes of our ancestors but to claim that others should suffer for harms inflicted on their ancestors is even worse.
People want to just brush such a horrific oppressive time away as if it never happened so they don’t have to experience the guilt, pain, and suffering that they caused and still benefit from. I love this initiative and effort to make things right. Great job HFH 🎉
