Hello there! Thank you so much for asking such a awesome and important question! If you want to draw this for the front view. Instead of drawing a box. (like you see for the 3-quarter view. )You would only need to draw a rectangle. We use a rectangle because in a front view, we can't see the side of the face. And then find the vertical center line of the face to divide the face in half. I hope I explained it clearly for you. Please let me know. Thanks again for commenting an watching my portrait drawing video!🥰🥰
It’s always nice to hear female voice explaining art, few places are as male dominated as the art world, even today the ratio is still like 4:1 men/female rep. Thanks for this!

thank you for mentioning and showing use of a music stand! a great alternative for me--rather than continuing to work on a horizontal surface. i may need to add a sandbag (weight) on the bottom for stability--for when a cat still wants the to get a closer look.
I'm really happy you found this alternative helpful and resourceful! You use what you have and no point buying something extra when you have something to work with and start off! Ooh! I like the idea of adding sandbags as weight at the bottom for more stability. Kitty likes to play lol. Thank you again so much for watching this video and also commenting and sharing what you think! I'm really glad you found it helpful! Looking forward to sharing more with you and happy drawing and painting. Have fun!

Very education video! One thing I wish you had mentioned is that, when you draw straight lines, it can help to focus on the point where the line will end.
Thank you so much! OMG Yes, that's a great and important part! Knowing where the line starts and ends will really help you find the placement of the line and the angle of it! But yeah, thanks for reminding me about it! I will make sure to remember that when I make more videos in the future! Thank you so much for watching and I'm really happy you found it helpful! Thanks for commenting as well. Looking forward to sharing more with you! Happy drawing and have fun!
I had never heard of Vasarely (and disliked abstract art) until I was taken to the medieval village of Gordes in southern France. In this beautiful ancient white-washed town high on a hill there is the Vasarely museum, a complete contrast to its natural surroundings. I changed my mind about a lot of things that day.
That must been quite an amazing experience seeing such high contrast in one place. Sometimes it takes a special place time and moment to change our view of certain about something. I'm also not too crazy about order art. Love the traditional stuff a lot more but I've learned to appreciate all sorts of different art and learn about it at a deeper level. I also never heard of Vasarely until I learned about Op Art and did my research to learn more about this art movement! Thanks for sharing your amazing journey of discovering Vasarely! Thank you for watching and commenting! Looking forward to sharing more with you!
@@victoriayuart The giant Vasarely canvases in the cool, minimalist and artifically-lit interior were just astonishing to behold and at first all I could think of was "that stuff was in Yellow Submarine" (the Beatles' animated movie). After that, I realised that there was a lot to admire in figurative / abstract / geometric art and it wasn't all messy, overblown or meaningless.
@@charcolew That's so cool! Yeah, you really have to experience that in person! A photograph of the artwork can never do any justice to its amazing impact on us in person! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
YAY! I'm so happy that this video was helpful for you! And congratulations on posting your own art! This makes me so happy and that's why I love making these videos because if I help 1 person and they find it super helpful and get them to start their art journey than I'm so grateful! Super excited to share more tips and advice with you to help you get to the next level in your art journey! Happy drawing and painting and keep up the amazing work! You can do it!🥰🥰🥰
I *love* Vasarely! I even have a print of his zebras at my home. And I used to live in Lothar Charoux's old studio. He was a Brazilian artist with an extensive Op-Art phase. Great job, Victoria! (also, let me know if you need help with Spanish and Portuguese name pronunciation)
That's so awesome! I'm also really happy I discovered him when I was researching Op art! it must be quite the experience living in Lothar Charoux's old studio! What was it like? And thank you so much! (Yes I need help and more practice with Spanish and Portuguese pronunciations lol I did my best but I still have more practice.) Can you make a video on how to pronounce Spanish and Portuguese names? Thanks again for watching and commenting! Looking forward to sharing more with you! Happy learning and have fun!
I'm happy you found out what is called! Now we know! Thank you again so much for watching and I'm happy it was helpful for you! Looking forward to sharing more with you! Thanks for commenting too and sharing your thoughts! Have fun!

Don't worry! I know it can be tiring mostly when you're getting started! It takes time to build up muscle strength to sustain and have more endurance while holding your pencil with the overhand grip. But little by little, you'll feel less and less tired. Just keep going! It's kind of like going to the gym and doing push-ups or planks. It's hard to hold a plank for 5 minutes! I can only hold it for 1 minute and 30 seconds lol. Still practicing and improving my endurance and stamina. If you got any questions, I'll be more than happy to help you out. Looking forward to sharing more with you. Thanks for watching and commenting! Happy drawing and have fun!
Thanks for sharing what you thought about OP ART! I hope you enjoyed learning what it's all about. Yeah, I'm not too crazy for this "art movement" either. But it was interesting to know that some people think it's art. I don't really crave for it. It makes my head spin lol. Hopefully some other art movement are more to your taste! Which is your favorite art movement? I love Neoclassicism! Looking forward to sharing more with you! Happy learning!
@@lurdesdias3249 I'm really happy you enjoy learning together together with me! I also want to expand my knowledge and learn new art movements and other cool things about art. Thanks for coming along with me on this "Discovering art together" Journey! Super excited to share the next art movement with you! Next up is Pop art! Have fun and enjoy your day! 🥰🥰
For experience i can say it videoooo is soooo good! When u start only need it....social media put to you a lot of supples and you finish soo confused about....what medium i should practice!!!!! And i ever get back to pencil!!!!
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you found it super helpful! Yeah, definitely social media has overcomplicated some of the simplest and basics. You don't need to overwhelm yourself. Just start with a pencil, paper, and eraser and just start drawing first. If you can do a lot with the basic stuff, you can do even more and better as you add new tools to your collection! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and experience! Happy drawing and have fun! Looking forward to sharing more with you!
Blueberry Eyes is one really awesome piece by Franz Kline! I'm really happy you learned a lot about abstract expressionism! Looking forward to sharing more with you! Let's have more fun discovering other new art movements!

I've also started using grids for referencing popular character faces with the same spacing, angles, start and ending of line principles you mentioned here. Depending on the character's complexity I go with a 3 X 3 box enclosing the head, or less if simpler characters / if I want less guidelines (maybe just box with a horizontal and vertical midline). And I also keep those as future reference. Maybe you could try making some shorts using this method with popular characters and boost the channel, because I swear this is such an effective method I've just only recently come to fully understand its full potential after wasting several years, but surprise surprise, it's barely talked about.
Thanks for letting me know! I'll work on it and try it out! Thank you again so much for the feedback and I'm happy you also like to use the grid method to make it easier for you to draw complex character faces. Thanks again for commenting and mentioning your art journey and experience. Looking forward to sharing more tips and advice with you!
