HUGH AND VERY DISAPPOINTING VIDEO. EVERYTHING LANGUAGE THAT I HAVE STUDIED HAS DIFFERENT LANGUAGE PIECES SORTA FROM DIFFERENT AREAS. IRISH IS NOT JUST IRISH AND WHAT ABOUT OTHERS EXAMPLE : SCOTTISH, NORMAN LANGUAGE ECT, ECT???? I BELIEVE IN NOT JUST LEARNING AND SPEAKING JUST YOUR LANGUAGE BUT OTHERS AS WELL.. EVERY LANGUAGE INCLUDING DEAD LANGUAGES ARE IMPORTANT AND SHOULD BE REMEMBERED, LEARN AND AND EVEN SPOKEN, THEIR EQUALLY IMPORTANT. HISTORY IS STILL REPEATING ITSELF WILL WE EVER LEARN. ALL LANGUAGES AND CULTURES SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED, PRESERVED , LEARNED AND SPOKEN. NOT FORCED ON NO ONE BUT BY CHOICE. OTHERWISE WHAT IS THE POINT. SO MUCH WAS LOST IN HISTORY BECAUSE IT WASN'T PRESERVED AND IT WASN'T EVEN RECOGNIZED NOR ACCEPTED. I DON'T GET WHY. MY ANYWAY THERE IS MY TWO CENTS AND ONE. I WISH I COULD START MY OWN WAY IN SOME WAY OF PRESERVING SUCH BUT I. WAY TOO POOR TO DO SO. ITS ASHAME SO MANY THINGS, CULTURE AND LANGUAGE IS LOST BECAUSE NO ONE SEEMS TO GIVE A DAM. I WISH HISTORY WOULD STOP REPEATING ITSELF. HOW MANY MORE SUCH WILL CONTINUE TO BE LOST FOREVER IN HISTORY???? BLESSINGS/PEACE.

Arrows in that migration diagram are wrong at 01:16. Scots and their Gaelic came from Ireland not up from England. Likewise Manx. Although they got no arrow at all Bretons and Breizh came south to France from Britain.

It is an ancient and sacred language from the Dan Tribe (from the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel). Sadly, never lost but instead written out from our history.

Funny how speakers of Eastern Slavic languages can pronounce Irish Gaelic 100x better than the urban Irish Anglophones who think they are pronouncing the language right just because they are Irish.

Go raibh maith agat don scannán. Níl sé éasca an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim, ach at the Jerry Tobin Irish School ar an Oileán Fada ár múinteoirí give us classes as Gaeilge every Wednesday ... gach Céadaoin. It's also a social event ... one is welcome to bring his pint of Guiness from the taproom to the classroom. Slán go fóill. P. Ó Ciardhubháin / F. Kirwin - Hall

Ireland is a sad example of how a native language can collapse and how people can adopt an invading language cy or in this case England for the Motherland.

For Irish use the app Mango, it is MUCH better than Duolingo in my opinion. That said, the apps are good supplements to use while taking lessons. The apps alone will only give you words, they are not going to lead you to being a confident speaker. Not judging you, I used Duolingo for almost a year and realized they have limited improvement without lessons. Now I am taking lessons, going to Gaeltacht meet-ups and using language/grammar workbooks to try and get there. Good luck!

The map at the beginning of the video shows the migrating of Celts from Anatolia to the British isles via central Europe, but forgetting the migration from the Iberian Peninsula, with which the Irish and Welsh are genetically partially related to.

This video came out before the Penninsula Ibeirneach migration was proven. It was believed till very recently Irish and British Celts came over from Anatolia and across Gaul before migrating West to The Western Isles
