Keeping the great guitar music from the 70s and 80s alive by showing just how talented these musicians were back in the day. Also writing some originals to keep that spirit going!
Boss GE-10 in front of the amp will get a touch more boost to the front of the amp even with sliders being level. Most people are convinced the PAF was part of the sound, but I believe it was a hotter ceramic magnet. The Ibanez Destroyer he used had ceramic DiMarzios. 50k mid pot and the "fat cap" in the amp and that might be all that's needed to really bring it home. Try a thin pick to really mimic the palm mutes for songs like Unchained. The quest never ends
Dude killer job! Btw- This is Van Halen's White Album far as material, my main beef with is the lack of low end in the mix.. it just makes the record as a whole sound anemic, which is a shame cuz there are some real killer songs on this record!
Really well played. I tried Pound Cake and it seemed difficult to play and as you said, keep trying. I figured out the song and it's so much fun to play! nice guitar playing!
I love his guitat work on FUCK, but I am a guy who LOVES big mids =) and I think he had those toned down on the album. It sounded a little thinner to me.
Its also proof that Michael Anthony is a great bass player with the tapping. Sad Eddie had to trash him like that, saying he had to tell him what to play.
Should've gone to bed an hour ago but instead here I am yet again studying these videos. I actually just got myself a Wolfgang special a few days ago and you know what? This is the first song I'm going to learn on it. Thanks for all the great videos!
I never paid much attention to how the Mean Street solo (not intro) was played before. Damn what a wild ride that is lol some of Eddie's weirdest (yet coolest) playing was on Fair Warning honestly.
I wish I could play this song. I've listened to and tried to play along with Pleasure Dome probably over 300 times and I've put in well over 10,000 hours. I just don't have the talent. Pleasure Dome and Me Wise Magic are my favorite VH songs with Respect the Wind a close third. The guy below is spot on. Alex's drumming allows Ed to perform miracles and vice versa.
This song is a guilty pleasure for me. Im a bigger fan of Hagar in VH than Roth. Love Roths lyrics but prefer Sammy singing them lol. And this song just has so many elements to it that makes it amazing! Great cover!!
I always thought he used a talk box for the first part of the solo, no? Also yeah I cannot for the life of me get that outro down lmao so great job nailing that especially.
I think if you mix the Marshall Plexi with the Soldano it would sound really sick. The Soldano's saturation with the Plexi's glassy highs would mix very well together.
