I recorded my version of the classic White Lion Tell Me song from their Pride album.
There are no guitars, bass or vocals from the original recording in this mix.

Something to note is that I use no delay on any of my guitar tracks when recording White Lion. From what I have been able to figure out over the years is that reverb was used on most of the 1970s & 1980s records. I like this approach and sound so much that now I refuse to use delay on anything.
Thanks to White Lion for writing this great song and thanks to Vito for inspiring guitarists around the world.

So awesome as usual!! Do you set the two springs in the bridge in a V shape? Also, did you add stainless steel parts and brass fine tuners to that stock EVH Special bridge?

Thanks Tom! The springs are straight. Yes, I replaced those parts with the steel and brass tuners. I just like the way it looks. Too much of one color on the bridge.

Love me some Vito! That guy was the future of guitar...until he wasn't. Great job! I love the tone from that album. Tube Screamer into a Marshall, with the super Strat.

@@TheRetroGuitarist From what I remember Vito saying in an interview way back, it was Michael Wagener that killed Vito by insisting he calm down his playing. That lead to him being disgusted with the whole thing and walking away. Wish I could find that interview again.

Wagener recently said that he would come out of retirement to record Vito again. Either way, radio turned its back on both those guys. Times change and often not for the best. Hell, everyone used to listen to Jazz. Extremely complex when compared to today or the 70s and 80s. Music has continued its path into the most dumbed down version it can possibly be. At some point, music will just be a single note and people will love it! Haha!

@@TheRetroGuitarist Yeah, I saw that comment from Wagener too. Interesting. There are so many different stories from Vito himself floating around and some of it is contradictory. But the end result is that guitar got dumbed down after he left the scene.
