I'm Veronica! I love Linux, old computer hardware, and explaining things.
Some folks call me the Linux Mom, and that works for me. I'm a sysadmin and COBOL lady who's posting fun content about cool things you can do with Linux, as well as some fun retro tech stuff I come across!
As someone who just installed chrultrabook on my main Chromebook (ASUS C425, leona board) it runs like a charm on Fedora! I love it, and I was able to get keyboard brightness and all the other stuff. It's perfect and allows me to do much more outside of Chromebrew and the Debian VM.
Very clear explanation thanx i have run Bodhi Linux Mint Ubuntu on old Macbooks and I think a friend of mine has some old CBooks will give it a shot methinx
The hardest part of working on an iPod is just getting it apart without bending the back, or cracking something! Those clips really don’t want to let go, so it takes patience and time. The rest is pretty easy. Also, I always lay a towel down as my work surface because it prevents scratches and keeps those tiny screws from bouncing off into oblivion.
We had one at school. In the 1970’s. There were lights on the cards. I asked what they were for. The teacher said that if they lit up it was a bad thing.
I like to add that Linux is far far better than microsoft will ever be, However I'm a bit dissapointed to find that Acer - a new laptop I purchased last year dose not support Linux 100 percent { the track pad/ the wifi/Bluetooth/ The Function keys / and most of all the sound do not work with Linux. Now this Laptop was purchased for the processing power which was a 8 core 8 thread Intel I3 so I could stream Online video - But windows got in the way where drivers are needed to make these things work. Now a 2018 model of the Swift 1 does work really well almost like a Chromebook - So its like we're waiting again for drivers in the kernel in Linux mint...
Hey Veronica I am a fellow musician and Main framer one thing that I might suggest is to get Contract work via remote and if you could get part-time contract work remote that would be even better. the only problem I see is that most places that might hire you want you to know a ton of other things other than just the standard mvs production environment. for me I think moving on to something like Quantum computing or AI would be a nice to have. Much success to you
You can actually bypass the 30 second wait and the beeps with control-d Also, the mrchromebox firmware script lets you change the delay to 3 seconds out of the original 30.
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get. 😊 Even Bill Gates hated his job. There are people who are traveling around the world with their laptop for a RU-vid channel.
Learning about Linux and hope to get my cert before the end of the year. Since I needed a little extra help so I looked up in RU-vid and found your channel and I’m OBSESSED!! Thank you also girl power 🥺♥️
Saw all of you walking around at VCFMW19, but was unable to say 'HI', due to the many inquisitive customers, at my tables. So HI! :) I enjoy your entertaining & educative content. Keep up the awesome job! You're spot-on with your assessment. Documentation on all things, especially Tech is sorely lacking these days. I actually had a class in college for this very subject, which was called Technical Writing. It impressed upon me these concepts covered in your video. I've always had a desire to understand how things work. Being able to explain those things, in a manner so that other people can understand only seems natural. Thank you for putting that concept out there. :)
I learned how to program with the commodore 64 user guide! I was 10 yo, and could hardly read English, and still manage to masterr sprites and sounds (and binary numbers). The book was that good!
Oh hey is that a ES 335 in the background? I have a 1966. Also, use pop. Like it. Not a fan of cosmic but eh, I can change that if it really bothered me. It’s not hideous, I’m just stuck in my XFCE ways.
It's amusing how people think mp3s are worse audio quality than what they're getting from most streaming services. Except Tidal and RU-vid Music, most of the other popular ones are very compressed at all price points.
: ) GO Veronica ! Mint is a go to Distro, especailly LMDE ! I am currently stuck on obscure distro of Spiral Linux : ) Debian based and VERY Stable : ) ALL THE BEST and Cheers from Upper Left ! ! : )
You should make a video or maybe a series where your easily understandable script would help people like us to understand not only electronic but also the art of fixing things. Ill be checking up if we get that or no lol. Good luck for your future endeavors.
