I am passionate about mechanical systems and watches. I started fixing and servicing watches as a hobby. I want to share with you my work, knowledge and passion for watchmaking. I hope you will enjoy the content, find it useful and join me in this fantastic hobby.
As always: thank you for sharing this and great work 👏👍👌! Did not know Movado was such a quality brand as their last models were and looked rather cheap, so no one ever paid any attention to them here in Switzerland from the 80s onwards.
Thank you so much! EVEFLEX!! I've been searching for what this product is that I've seen on the many RU-vid channels and finally I was able to get the name from your transcript! Thank you thank you thank you!
Hi thank you I hope you don't mind but I have sent you a question and picture on Instagram if you could take a look when you have the time thank you 👍🏽
Bonjour, my brother has the same almost Rolex, his dial and bezel is blue. Very beautiful watch, however, I feel my Tudor collection is just as nice. I totally enjoy your work, video, narration etc. Thank you and Merci !!
Great video as always! What is the gray pen-like tool you use? The one lying next to the Bergeon logotype at 7:00 minutes. Do you know where to buy it?
@@FrenchWatchCollector The poor man’s Rolex. I wore my Willard daily for 15 years until it was so scratched up you couldn’t see what time it was and put it in the back of my sock drawer. Then I bought another Seiko and did the same thing. Then about 4 years ago I was watching Wrist Watch Revival on RU-vid and he was working on an old Seiko Divers watch, and dam if it didn’t look like mine. I went and dug around my drawer and there it was the same exact model. That got me motivated to get it restored so I sent it to Seiko in New Jersey. When they got it I received an e-mail saying they could do the work but didn’t have a crystal for it as it was an out of production model. Dam! So I had them send it back untouched. I ended up sending it to a watch repair place in California and they did the work. Now I wear my old friend every once in a while, don’t want it to get beat up. My daily watch is an Apple Watch Ultra,it motivates me to get more exercise and gives good time, but it’s not as classy as my old 6105.
Great video, thank you! I collected a few Pontiacs on a brocante and would like to restore those (none are working properly). However, I still have no clue about the watch restoration world. What is the full set of tools needed to a beginner to start practicing?
I can find some kits here www.bergeon.swiss/02-outillage-pour-mouvement-achevage-reglage-kits-d-outils/kits-d-outils.html Horotec does some kits to but I cannot find them
Another exquisite superb job. Good Job! I just bout an Audemars Piguet Cal. 2003 which I believe it to be very similar! Might try to service it myself first if things don't go to well, ill let you know... Accident? Coma?! WHAT ?! seriously. I wish you the very best recovery.
Excellent work. I really enjoyed this service. Thank you for all you do, I hope you are feeling better and yes, I was wondering about the RB as well and found info on Rolex Bienne. Thank you from Arizona.
mamacoo You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
This is probably a dumb question, but I’ll ask it anyway. Wouldn’t plastic tools (instead of metal) be better for avoiding scratching anything? If not, why is metal used so much?
great job sir, I think but don't know for sure the letters are date codes or batch numbers I know this is the case for some makers but not sure about Rolex but there for a reason. Andy UK.
Hello, Regarding the RB mark, this auction notice, "ROLEX “White gold Prototype”, Oyster Perpetual Date, Submariner, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, Ref. 1680, movement no. D701771, no serial number, circa 1973", claims it stands for -- Rolex Bienne. Wikipedia says Rolex has a factory in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Apparently Rolex has been using the designation for quite a while; here's an old 17 jewel movement, found on the "Watch Guy Watch repair blog" which has the RB stamping. So, yeah, I really can't say the mystery is solved, but it some fun and light research on a Saturday afternoon, so time well spent. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for the information. It is right that when I went to Bienne there is a very big Rolex factory. Can be the reason of the code for Rolex Bienne
