The american dream is still real. They said it themselves, if you obey the rules, most of us have been doing what we want living like theres no tomorow. How can you get a head when you spent all your money on booze and a good time. Just look at covid some of us buckled down and got rich while most got on EDD and blew all the money 😅

When the songwriter tells Sam his culture is fake, my thought was that ALL culture is in essence, fake. Social constructs like royalty, religions, nationalism, consumerism and patriotism, etc. All created to capture power, wealth, influence over populations. The irony is that the moguls in the movie who bury themselves are just following another fake cultural tradition from Egypt.

Brilliant and indeed underrated movie, and this video essay is excellent! If I may add: for anyone who is struggling to find meaning and purpose in this corrupt and fake world, there is a very old book that is readily available and right under our noses (although many people miss the obvious clues). It also requires an inquisitive and critical mind. It is full of layers and cross-references. Some may even say it has many hidden clues, but it's central meaning is abundantly clear and free from ambiguity. I highly recommend you give it a read and try to understand it's profound revelations for yourself.

What’s the astonishing to me is that it almost seems like there was a disconnect between the Wachowski’s that made these movies, and the Wachowski’s that made the Matrix Resurrections. Not to say that these movies were _terribly_ profound, the gap in skill when it comes to storytelling is almost as if they’re completely different people. It’s like anybody could’ve done a more faithful unnecessary sequal than them, ironically. makes me wonder how much actual input they had on all the good aspects of the series, or if they were literally just the "let's show the studio Ghost in the Shell and have to he writes lrs do the heavy lifting" guys.

I think one of the main things people miss from this movie is that while it does have the "don't dream it, be it" message and is open in it's support for sexuality, it's also a warning for promiscuity. Everyone's life Frank messes with, ends up worse. He threw away Columbia for Eddie, breaking her heart, put Eddie aside and killed him later for Rocky, Brad and Janet's lives were left in ruin. Riff Raff and Megenta saw this, leading them to killing Frank. So while the movie is saying you are free to explore your sexuality, too much freedom is detrimental.

I was very young when I watched Panic Room and Constantine and instantly fell in love with both. Later when I found out that both were not considered to be among the greatest works of the respective directors, I was shocked because both the movies, in my young and inexperienced eyes, were nothing short of two masterpieces. I am so happy that the young generation is now re-visiting old movies and films like Panic Room and Constantine are slowly but surely achieving cult classic status.

The question lies in whether can you feel the difference?we cant achieve higher existance without accending to it, only than you know what you should know. How can you change the existential threat for good without break through the repeating loop of salvation? People experience fear they afraid of losing they hope things will continued some how but what they didnt see is it also take up space. To improve and grow one need space, and the ultimate sacrifice is to lose something.

there is an issue with casting for sure and u cant even see it Bella she tried to fill in a big shoes ... its way over her size.....she is awful as Ellie and sorry to say facts but yeah looks matter! ofc it matters when the fucking show is based on the game and people grow up on this game and made a connection with the model cuz u played it over 30 hours and got a bond with it, and personality of Joel and Ellie its pretty obvious when you do a show BASED on a game or a comic that already exist long before that at least try to nail the looks model of the game to some extent and don't disregard that like it don't matter cause IT IS we don't hate Bella cuz her weirdo looks she just don't fit and don't act like Ellie we hate her persistent to be Ellie when she is clearly not, they deviate off some of easy things to do correctly Cannon Ellie in the story is REDHEAD! how the fuck Bella fits in there?? leaving looks aside her personality is 180 from Ellie personality and no matter how hard she will try to pull it off its just been "forced" she cant act her im sorry.... some actors just don't fit and people needs to understand that i cant look at her her and feel she is Ellie its just awful sorry its not working nothing personal to Bella BUT SHE IS NOT ELLIE to me and for alot others that understand that perspective and honoring the game

This is the first of many more songs to come. It's a little rough around the edges, I'm still by no means an expert at any of this stuff, but I've been passionate about music for a long time and I'm excited to finally share this side of my journey with you! So I know this is totally out of left-field for a video essayist, but I hope you guys enjoy it. Quentin Tarantino is one of the filmmakers that really puts thoughs and effort in using perfectly chosen songs , and QT is of untouchable master level. Another one is Michael Mann. Not in all his films , but in ”Collateral” and especially ”Miami vice” he definately hit a homerun. Also , a bunch of the goofy teen movies in the 80’s had very good soundtracks. Most obvious the ones that had John Hughes attached in some way.

Marvel 10yrs worked because the overall vision and uncompromising requirements for each film were explained to each director. You have a creative addition? Some funny dialogue ? Some serious dialogue? Great. Does it align with the overall vision or does it conflict (TLJ, for instance)? If the latter, then, no, you cannot put it in. The Mummy (2019?) failed because they let Cruise take control instead of Uni retaining control. Their Dark Universe would work if they grounded the idea of monsters better. The invisible man movie, though unaligned, was very cool, to see an idea of tech being instead of a farfetched concept. And while Hollow Man was certainly a good movie, or imo it is, it is a one hit wonder.

i’m so thankful to rocky horror- not only because it satiates my insatiable thirst for all things camp- but mainly because i believe it contributed majorly to my parents and family’s acceptance of my queer identity. my dad’s side of the family are all major fans (like, can recite the whole movie from memory type of fans), and, despite being otherwise conservative-leaning, welcomed me with entirely open arms when i came out to them as lesbian. to them, it was no big deal because they had been raised with these fluid ideas of what sexuality can be, and because of that, i’ve been afforded security in regards to my identity that i don’t think i would have otherwise. also, i know that this video is about the movie, but i saw a local theater production of the stage show, last night, and it was wonderful! consider this a reminder to support community theater, because you may find yourself doing the time warp on stage (despite being otherwise socially anxious as all hell) and having a great time!

Another character moment I like that gets unnoticed is the car birth scene. There whilst J is "helping" the mom give birth for comedic effect, K is talking to the alien driver. Despite the fact that the alien is fleeing illegally, K treats them with respect and empathy. He isn't rude or aggressive or forceful because he understands that this alien is a good one just trying to live a peaceful life with his family. Instead of arresting him he congratulated them on their child and wished him well. Then with J wondered "what would scare this guy so much he'd be willing to flee Earth with a newborn?" That scene displayed a lot of K's humanity whilst providing a comedic relief moment with J.
