Cool card. But no extra value. These junk wax era cards are famous for dots, smudges, offcentering, color issues. In fact these print defects actually take away the value. And ignore what you see on ebay. Hope this helps.
Awesome this just helped me identify some 1984 cards I got today I thought they was just an extremely clean mint card with how glossy they was they are absolutely perfect cards only got like a hundred of them they was in a random box of cards I got for ten bucks
I think one of the main reasons people on eBay are labelling the base topps cards as Tiffany is because they simply don't know. The hobby has changed since the pandemic and there are a lot of newbie collectors that don't really know or are misinformed. Let's not forget some are scammers. So in the video one of the Canseco listings was labelled Tiffany but the person was only asking 5 dollars. That is an example of a misinformed seller. The ones that are scammers are the ones that list the base cards for thousands of dollars. I may start looking for and buying some of the cheap "Tiffany" listings. There is always the chance that I could get a great Tiffany card for cheap.
I agree with you that most sellers are probably misinformed and innocent. Hopefully this video will help someone. But I don't agree you should "take a chance" on buying Tiffanys that aren't Tiffanys. I think when people buy fake or mislabeled cards, it only encourages people to be misleading. Good luck and look at the backs carefully before buying. Thanks for the comment.
Topps Glossy and Topps Tiffany. Mix in OPC with regular Topps and the better quality updated sets, and you got a whole lot of question marks for new collectors.
Quick question, for Randy myers at 15:16, why does one say Washington, and the other says wash. (Short for Washington) lol. But I seen other cards same year and all and they both say Washington and Washington? Lol
Interesting video, I have a large collection of sports cards from the 80’s to 2020’s and had just been sitting on them and saw these inflated values and wondered what was going on. Makes a lot more sense now. Still holds a valuable place in my heart.
Its super difficult to find this card out there, there is actually some copies of this card that made it out into boxes and packs. Some have sold on eBay and all that. This is in my opinion a card I would dream of having! Thanks for sharing!
I know you mostly focus on baseball but, you should do a video on the 2005-06 topps chrome basketball Jenny McCarthy. As far as I know the only ones out there are cut outs. Not really sure why topps did it but they sell for pretty good money. About 75 to 100 bucks. Never seen a graded one though.
I have some very serious questions about the Mark McGwire number 580 Topps All-Star rookie card that you did show in the video. The volume on this card I've seen online being sold for between $30 and 3,000 because it's such a big difference I need to know what makes it so much more valuable because I happen to be sitting on a couple of these cards. Can anyone help me with this?
I get this question daily. You can see wild numbers on just about any junk wax card. "Asking price" and value are 2 different things. I wish I could send you a screenshot of this card selling for about a buck all day long. Look at sold listings, not active listings. Sorry for the bad news.

I have to be scrolling through eBay looking for sports cards and I saw this pop up and the person wanted $3,000 for the card. And I'm like wait I have two of these. Then I look at the cards and I have every single thing that this guy's listing off on his card as to why it's value that much. But I need to know exactly what this was so that if I were to sell the cards I'm not ripping somebody off. I appreciate you setting me straight and I'll continue to watch your videos.
@joeradke7522 there are errors. Nothing of any value. The missing dot error is a hype. It adds no value. Ignore those silly asking prices on ebay. They aren't selling for that.
@joeradke7522 that is the hardest era to sell. It is the only era that has actually decreased in value over the years. There's a short list of valuable cards (89 UD Griffey, 89 UD errors, 90 Topps Frank Thomas no name, 89 Fleer Ripken FFace, not much else). I can help with value, but I don't know much about selling cards. Be aware, your junk wax collection is going to cost far more too ship then they are worth. Card stores probably won't buy them, but it might be with a try. Hope this helps.
I'm from Jackson, MS. His 1987 season in Jackson for the AA Mets was absurd. He won the Texas League triple crown. I was 8. He was a 5-tool guy. He was a Mark Grace light at the plate, only with the glove to play almost anywhere - and that's a complement. But the NY media devoured him because, as you say, he was supposed to be the next Mickey Mantle. And as those great Davey Johnson Mets teams started to tank around the same tame he arrived, he was an easy, if completely innocent, scapegoat.
This summer I was driving around looking for garage sales and saw a cardboard box sitting on the corner of someone's driveway labeled "Free - Please Take". I took a look inside and there were 15 boxes of the "Donruss Baseball Puzzle & Cards" set. I took them home and now they sit in my basement depreciating further in value.
That is so cool! Despite not being valuable, I'd love to find that. I feel like with all the hype of these cards right now, I'm sure they are appreciating a little, at least.
Hello. I'm assuming you're talking about the "A's" in the stat line of his All Star card. The corrected version should say "AL". The error version is EXTREMELY easy to find and worth about a dime. The corrected "AL" version goes for about a buck and change. Check out the eBay sold listings if you want to see for yourself. Hope this helps.

Hello, I found new variation card that you might like to check into. It is the Allen Trammell All Star card. The number on the back, the 4 has some of the pink/maroon color in it and some cards don't. If there is a way i could send you a photo of it, let me know a way (if you haven't found any yet.
There is a an issue with these cards having some pink in the card #. Some the pink ink going around the border can bleed into the card number. Here's and example I found. Always wondered why 91 topps is totally unlike any other topps set regarding the amount of errors. Was topps taking a page out of 89 fleer and 90 donruss playbook seeing how popular errors were? Back then, they kept printing through the year and reported production was over 4 million of each card. Maybe topps thought they'd have to continuously keep interest and Demand high in order to sell that much. If so, they were wrong as interest in errors by 91 was gone.
I only show confirmed errors and variations. If the error isn't mass produced, then I won't show it. I don't waste my viewers time with specks, spots, miscuts... etc. And hey, I like PSA, but grading companies are not the authority in the hobby for errors and variations. Thanks for the comment.

All cards from all mfg'ers during this time period had bad quality control due to massive over-production. No there isn't a specific issue with this card being miscut, but miscut, blankbacks, spots, etc are super common and don't add much value. Don't take my word for it. Look under SOLD listings on ebay (not ACTIVE listings), and you can get an idea of the value of junk wax printing flaws. Thnx.
