I think my lifestyle and mileage would suit the ability to have an electric car as long as I remembered to charge it every night. Some of the features I don’t like such as the touchscreen and some features are for features sake and some of the styling I’m not keen on but I think the styling will grow on everyone. So I probably wouldn’t buy one unless it was a really good offer because money talks 😂
What is your model and age and I’ll see if I can remember or find out where it would be. Normally it’s in settings or on the main menu where it says car net then click settings within there
@@MollydoesRU-vid Hi its a tiguan 2017. I am unable to activet car net, even though it instructs me to connect to WIFI, (which I do) it then asks for a code which I provide then it just says service unavailable. I am pretty saavy with tech, i did a factory reset incase that would help but nothing seems to be working Not the end of the world as it has car play but still
There was a show on down south at Beaulieu which normally attracts more classics but I’m sure the number of classics attending will grow year by year ☺️ depending on the weather ofcourse!
My 2003 R53 MINI Cooper S has a vent hose that must be connected on the right hand side of the battery. There is no mention of this in the video. The hose vents potentially explosive gas to prevent it building up inside the car, as the battery is located in the boot rather than the engine bay (where natural airflow does the job of venting).
Nice one Molly, i am another man child R53 owner that's throwing $ and many hours into my 2005 hyper blue Mini and can barely wait to complete the project and just enjoy it but like most plans they just get bigger 😂. Love your set up too looks great.
Can I use Volkswagen ID on a used vehicle that I bought from an owner who has already registered his profile? That is, is the volkswagen ID used exclusively on new vehicles or can it be registered on a used vehicle as well? I created my ID via pc, and I would like to become the primary user. I was not allowed to take any steps because when I want to delete the profile of the previous user, I get a message that the keys will be deleted and that the user will be notified via email that his profile has been deleted.
It does scrape a lot, I pulled it off my drive and it scraped on a certain part and it was a teeth gritted moment of is it still on! 😂 but Emily just laughed and said you just get used to it.
Just about to pick one up on an 03 plate it’s immaculate all original and has only done 24k miles electric blue….. I can’t wait I’ve never driven one and it will be hard to resist modding it 😅 my weekend car is a Lotus Elise. Thanks for the informative video it’s helped me get some insight on these cool little machines.
@@MollydoesRU-vid definitely will no doubt about that 😁…… can you tell me is there much of a difference in performance with an 03 plate compared to 04-06 models ? Thanks again 😉
Got an email back from vaddesign saying they are about 3 months out on flares for R53 ! They will announce it when in production after finished testing fit. cant wait!
I’ll be 65 April. Have had my 02 R53 almost 2 years. I’ve got such a long list of parts on my shelves. Performance and cosmetic related. Quaif, cam , clutch, large intercooler and a LOT more. Front and rear. Even ALL the hoses and sensors. Figured since I’m in there I might as well. Pain to take apart every time you do an upgrade. Going to be a blast! Hey woman. Your car looks fantastic. May get the front facia. What brand is it and does it have to be a full kit to blend in. Thanks
Sorry. After looking at it closer I realized it’s stock. Looks nice. I have extra flares that I’ll paint to match car. Probably all the black parts. I’m 6’3” so having those seats would be fine. How are they holding up? Did you do springs or coil overs. I decided on coil overs. I’m really throwing $ at it lol. I have muscle cars, truck, motorcycles and a drag car. I never grew up. My matchbox and hot wheels are bigger and more expensive! Thanks for the reply.
I daily my 04 r53 100-150 miles a day mainly highways and if a cruise at about 70 mph on California messed up freeways and get about 32mpg .as long as you stay ontop of the services it will treat you right just like any other performance car its going to be a little more pricey. My r53 has just shy of 160k miles on it and still runs amazing.
ey!your passion for mini’s is amazing &!such a turn on! Meaning I’ve been dying to meet a girl who knows & loves mini’s w/ a passion like myself about them. Main reason!I wanted to comment is to tell u how much I like what u doing on this page. I live in United States & a die hard Mini owner & lover for years. I love to go on ur page & see all the amazing events/ shows etc that I would never get to see by me. So thank you!
I'm sure someone has changed the engine in that car probably for a Mk3 Gti engine (could just be the rocker cover is different). Also the interior is lovely and warm until the heater matrix inevitably explodes ( if you're lucky it may have been replaced already). I had 2 8 Valves many years ago 😀
Hi mate (the owner here), it is the original PB engine except with a G60 rocker cover fitted. I replaced the heater matrix not long after having the car however I noticed it had been replaced in the late 90’s from the production date stamped. 👍🏼
Hi Ben yes i thought someone had done that. I had my 1985 Golf GTi heater matrix replaced in 1997 (where did all the years go eh?) Unfortunately i stuck that car in a ditch in 1999 and ripped the rear axle off it!
I also use my 2005 R53 as a daily driver. The features also make the car a real driver's car. Ok, the depreciation with 50 miles daily is high. A total distance of 150,000 miles has now been driven. But the high fun factor of the car more than makes up for it. The handling, sound of the supercharger and sports exhaust make you feel like you're driving a sports car! The consumption of a car of this caliber is not too bad. 8.6301554 Miles / Liter.
hello Molly, I wanted to show a little appreciation for a splendid video about the history and specs of the Golf GTI I’ve dreamt about as early as grade school. Love from across the pond, California. ❤
I've got a 1996 mini sprite 1275 cc in blue! Electronic ignition! Fuel injection! Needs raising up a bit with the suspension! But a few alterations over the next few years? Love driving it? Got a Kia Niro hybrid but nobody notices you in that 😅 get out in the mini load's of people love it😍
Thank you, they were just on eBay so not expensive ones, search for Lumax classic car spot lamps (don’t put classic mini in the search). Hope that helps
