I am highly opinionated on many things, I do not give a damn most everything else and not afraid to say how I think or feel.. I am a red-blooded American who served in the Marines from 1990 through 2003. I am pro 2nd amendment.
This is a fucking joke right!!! I honestly can’t believe you still have this on RU-vid and you seem to be dead fucking serious!!! Where is RU-vid with removing dumbass vids like this?!?!
I'm just curious why everyone feels it necessary to pull both hammer springs up when swapping out a retainer plate?? I mean of course you "nicely" release the hammer forward to release any tension, but after that??......Just wonderin' fellas???
Sir you are quite in fact a God send to me I had no clue what that spring was called or what it did even. I was cleaning my mak 90 and somehow that came loose from its original fitting and I was truly left with a loose spring and no idea on how to fix it. Your video was the only one of its kind that I could find to get me all squared away. Thank you kind sir thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The retainer plate should push in with little force. Worked perfectly in mine. No way I’m dealing with that spring ever again. If it’s not locked the hammer pin will start coming out. That’s why I ordered the retainer plate and threw away the shepherds crook spring crap!
So .308/7.62x51mm NATO mags don't fit? Damn, I was hoping they would. When Biden got elected I laid in a good supply of 7.62x39mm rounds ( I'm an AKM guy ) and have way more than a thousand rounds, as well as a turret press, reloading bench, and components to make a bunch of ammo in a bunch of calibers, I like my Red Army Standard and Wolf. Since it looks as tho I will be shooting a lot more .308, I was hoping to find a chest rig that has built in pockets that fit both AK 47/AKM 30s and .308. It seems I will be using what I've been using for .308, RACK Vests with 100 round SAW gunner pouches as triple mag pouches, and E Tool covers as .308 mag pouches ( since purpose-built .308 mag pouches are relatively expensive and often carry a single mag each ). I guess I can use the MOLLE on the front to attach some of those pouches as well, since I'm gonna want to carry way more than 6 rifle mags ( especially 20 rounders like virtually all .308 mags ) of any caliber. Do you know of any Condor ( or similarly priced chest rigs ) that have built in mag pouches that fit .308? Oh, BTW, those elastic loops on the sides you were wondering about are for things like LED flashlights, CAT tourniquets, carabiners, knives, even hanks of 550 paracord, and whatever you can think of that will fit the loops and/or hook on or otherwise attach to them, A good use that came to mind as I looked at them is a Vietnam Ranger Tomahawk, with the handle inserted into the loops with a few wraps of paracord at a spot on the handle so that it sits at a height that makes it easier for you to grab, draw, and get the handle at a height that makes it at a good, combat ready grip height for you ( and Ranger Tomahawks are great CQB weapons ). Just some questions for you and thoughts on what I consider good uses the elastic loops can be used for. Good review and nice video
I know im late for this older video but i recently received this rifle from someone and this video was great to help in figuring out what i could do with it.i was able to to get everything i needed to make it more comfortable to use and look better than it did.thanks for posting it and appreciate the great tutorial.
Thanks for the great tip on Desert Fox Outfitters. Not only is their adapter nearly half the price of others, but they've got a great Magpul MIL spec kit for only $140 that gives you everything you need. Plus they're easy to get a hold of and work with.
I had the same issue with my MAK 90 safety when I went to install a Krebs enhanced safety selector. It was pretty easy to partially remove the trigger pin to buy the extra space to fully rotate the safety past the disconnector. Even if you end up deciding to fully remove the trigger, it’s not a big deal to reinstall it, just make very sure if any of you decide to go this route that you are very mindful of the spring between the trigger and disconnector that tensions the disconnector.
A veteran of Afghanistan used his over there and recommended not to do that, it tends to wear out the pouches faster. If you need more mag pouches, Molle them on.
