George’s rhythm playing for 2:10 on is …insanely good. He went after it.

Cream was part of the soundtrack of my youth. Among so many other things but here I am approaching the big 70 and I am still enthralled by this greatest of all power trios.

The photo at 13:40 where Ginger Baker is throwing back a can of PBR! I’m a guitarist myself, but as a self-described “cranky old man” who doesn’t suffer fools, I absolutely love that drummer. Cheers to the Cream!

Wow I’m so glad the interviewer asked about the Aretha Franklin session, and how Eric said he couldn’t keep up with the diminished chords lol! Gem of an interview.

Was big into Woodstock and the hippy lifestyle. Alot of groovy people for sure. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RU-vid. 😀

The use of silence between verses is really quite clever and made Badge very different from every other song on the charts at the time.

I was in the Army during Woodstock, but I had heard Santana on some reel-to-reel tapes that guys from Cali had. When the albums began showin' up... they were even better. Today, a staple of Rock.

The bridge is played by Clapton, not Harrison, as George stated in a Guitar World interview many years ago. It was Clapton’s newly acquired Leslie. George plays the muffled rhythm guitar at the into. So tired of people claiming the arpeggio is played by Harrison.
@robertvavra414
@robertvavra414 5 месяцев назад
Correct. Clapton used the Leslie in all three of the "Goodbye" studio tracks. George plays the great rhythm guitar in the verses; sounds like his Telecaster thru a Fender amp (ala the "Let It Be" sessions) with the tremelo activated.

Yes, but a lot of things came later, I suppose the material for this kind of heavy power trio band was very well explored over a period of time and everything they did, they did very well and perfectly accomplished what they set out to do.
