The photo at 13:40 where Ginger Baker is throwing back a can of PBR! I’m a guitarist myself, but as a self-described “cranky old man” who doesn’t suffer fools, I absolutely love that drummer. Cheers to the Cream!

As a huge Cream fan, I never heard this interview before! What a surprise. What a group. Such talent, both individually and collectively. Wish they lasted longer than 2 years. I still listen to their tunes 50+ years later.

Cream was part of the soundtrack of my youth. Among so many other things but here I am approaching the big 70 and I am still enthralled by this greatest of all power trios.

Wow I’m so glad the interviewer asked about the Aretha Franklin session, and how Eric said he couldn’t keep up with the diminished chords lol! Gem of an interview.

Yet another little piece of Cream’s history emerges. Not long ago the Royal Albert Hall film (from Nov 23 1968) was pretty much all there was.

Yes, but a lot of things came later, I suppose the material for this kind of heavy power trio band was very well explored over a period of time and everything they did, they did very well and perfectly accomplished what they set out to do.

@@Home-cy2ww I knew about Apostrophe, Zappa and Bruce hated eachother after that, Bruce even claimed at one point that he only played cello on the song, which was a lie cause he didn't want to be associated with the bass riff on that song. Had no idea about Clapton appearing on Money though!

Surprising to hear Eric at 10:24 say the Yardbirds "weren't really very good" and "it really was a very shaky band musically."

Its not that surprising. He's talking about his time with them. I could see him thinking that Jim McCarty on drums and Paul Samwell-Smith on Bass weren't as musically skilled as himself, so he probably feels that Baker and Bruce are more in his league as musicians.
