You can attack newbies in hisec. you just will be attacked by CONCORD, lose your ship, and a massive amount of security status. do it too much and all of hisec will hate you, including CONCORD

I wouldn't have agreed before. But since you can buy skill points and sell your own skills, I'm no longer happy about EvE. The salty mood has also increased massively. It used to be that ten people wanted to help you and one wanted to pull you off. Today it is exactly the opposite. I'm lucky, I got to know EvE when it was still good. I started in 2011, at a WH Corp, then to Ev0ke/Ewoks. Then back to the WH. My name is on the monument. That was something nice, even if it's not something very special now. I only do PvE these days, and every now and then I'll knock off a few skills. But I will play through my Omega time (2 months) and then finally uninstall the game. Maybe if CCP changes something, then I'll come back. But the way things are going now, not really.

Gamification, already beeing implemented into education I bet we will see it in many careers aswell soon. I think monetization somehow will grow in there aswell and there will be a time when we miss the old times when this was only in games lel

Eve was already 12 years old by the time I was pooped out in space in a rookie ship. Eve History books had already been written. Empires had risen, held New Eden by the throat, and crumbled to ashes. Entire generations of players had come and gone. In spite of this, I not only managed to survive, but thrive. And, I'm not alone. Indeed, Eve has player churn like any MMO. Social media might paint a different picture, but in-game, ancient vets are incredibly rare, and the average player age is probably in the neighborhood of 2 years. Additionally, Eve's balance and progression systems are designed to curb vet power and make it easier for newbros to catch up (i.e. ship balance, diminishing returns for injectors, specialization, 80/20 rule for skills). Besides, what do you think will happen if CCP does a reset? Well, for one, it will destroy a major hook that keeps players invested in the game by wiping out their progress and stuff. But two, all the vets will use their knowledge, experience, and relationships to quickly build back up. Eve is still, for the time being, a skill based game -and player skill is not something that you can reset. Thus, the end result is that the older, hardcore players that do stick around will quickly build back up. Like, it would probably take me a year to get to respin up all my characters, and make back about 80% of my asset value. The only thing that would really suffer would be my total SP. But that wouldn't be a super big deal because I know exactly what to focus my training on. So, the biggest drawback to that would be that it would require a little more time and effort for me to make pivots when patches necessitate new strats or create new opportunities.
Long story short, there is nothing standing in the way of newbros finding success or having fun. Eve can be brutal, and many players do learn many lessons the hard way. But at the end of the day, the biggest obstacle to your success is your own attitudes and behaviors. When something doesn't go your way, do you blame players or mechanics, or do you ask yourself what you did wrong, and what you could do differently next time? When you get knocked down, do you give up, or do you keep getting back up no matter what.

Update: yeah, just warp around until you find drones. I was successful finding them near the sun with two different characters. Thanks for the guide, this really helped. I spent a lot of time trying the target-painting method and didn't get anywhere. This one worked on the first try both times.
@ 8:23 I notice the hand under the light is "mirrored" in...well...the mirror. His hand is right under his head which has a light bulb above it. Which is then mirrored in...yup you guessed it...the mirror on the right hand side! That light fixture is getting a lot of "shine"! Lmao!
