Hi there, we're Matt, Marianne (aka Mez) and our dog Ernie (aka the Worm!) and as our YT channel name suggests, we are all about exploring Australia via More Dirt and Less Bitumen.
Why take the easy route, when you can take the scenic route.
We explore, camp, four-wheel drive and are all about the experience. Take the road less travelled and enjoy it for what it is. An adventure. An experience.
As we continue to explore, we'll continue to post videos of our adventures. We hope that you will enjoy watching them as much as we enjoy making them.

Anyways, that's enough for now, we need to go on another adventure.
I was there too. 1997. All excited to see the platypus and we saw one. 30 centimeters large from 8 metres above.😂😂😂. It still was an amazing area. Really Australian laid back
Well Done! I am going to Fraser for easter break on Wednesday. I just bought a mini 4 pro. I don't have high hopes but I'd love to capture some footage like this.
Bloody Hell, that looks like a great place to camp. Plus a place to fish, does not get much better in my book. I live in Wyoming, and not a lot of creeks or rivers to camp by. Stay safe. P.S. Even when I cook at home, I try to keep it too one pot. Great set up you have.
It’s great to see you back again Matt. I hope the event went well. I really enjoyed this episode, especially your choice of music. The filming is your usual high standard. 👍. I wish you had more subscribers. You deserve more.
Cheers Greg, and thanks for checking out the latest video and your kind words. I'd love to make more, but trying to find the time between jobs is the hard thing. The Birdsville Races were fantastic and it's hard to believe that is was already a week ago!
Hey Greg, yeah it has been a little while. I think I’ll still have one more video from K’gari. I’ll spend a bit of time out in Western Queensland again this year for sure. Who knows where else….
Love to hear. from some people who have used these vans for a while. Taken them off road etc. I smell a rat here. can't find any reviews with any negativity what so ever. No product made in the big C could possibly be that good. The company has gone to extreme lengths to portray the product as Australian made.Cleverly stopping short of actually saying so. I currently own an Australian made camper trailer. Tru Blue brand.Had it for 10 years, used regularly in all Australian conditions. Still in excellent condition. That company was sent out of business by companies such as this one . I know this from speaking personally to the owner of Tru Blue.Love to know the profit margin per unit they make compared to an ausie made unit. Who cares you may ask . You will when your new van is falling to bits.
The Wooroolin Wetlands are unpredictable. Sometimes, when you expect it to be dry, it's full. Yet other times after rain it can remain dry. It's beautiful country out that way. It's a bit sad that a lot of viable cropland has been sold for housing developments. But hey, at least those new home owners should be able to grow some good veges in the back yard.
Hey Brad, thanks for dropping in and enjoying the trip. I was born and bred in Mackay, and had travelled on a few of the roads, but there are always more to find.
Just found and watched your Long Way series. Very inspiring and entertaining. I'm in Mackay and have just started travelling the local area on my BMW adventure bike, and I too am seeking out dirt roads. There is so much to discover right in your own backyard. Oh, and I subscribed too.
What a brilliant intro Matt! That early morning footage was stunning!!!!!! Are there any more episodes to follow this one or is that all for this series?
Thanks so much Greg! It was a beautiful morning to be on the dirt, so I'm glad my footage does it a little bit of justice. This is the last of this series Greg. We need to stop working so much and get out and travel more!!! Thanks heaps
Our sentiments exactly about camping in that spot on the Cooper. Sunrise was beautiful. Absolutely stunning drone footage and star footage at the Dreamtime serpent.
